    I'm in the West and interested, but I don't want my government involved. Why? Because we always screw it up! Way too many lives and way too much money have already been spent trying to make people "free" by our standards, and without a whole lot to show for it.

    Except if you are running AdBlock Plus, and don't trust mozilla.com, there is no big green link. It's a smaller text link underneath the normal download links for the standard releases.

    Phonetics can also make horrible spellers. Our school had a phonetics program called ITA (a US variation on the UK ITA system)when I was in grade school. It made pretty good readers out of kids, but crappy spellers, because they got used to the conventions of the phonetics program, and not actual grammar / spelling rules. Years after getting out of the system, I still saw high school seniors in honors programs who couldn't spell worth a damn.

    The vicious little circle is that everyone wants a dividend check on their stock holdings, too. So we complain about not getting taxed fairly, but God forbid we don't get a return on our investment either. Can't have it both ways.

    Keep in mind the kid may not need to go "outside", so no need for a suit. Kids can move through airlocks, and don't participate in EVA.

    No new version is being pulled down on an update, and the "upgrade" option only appears on the help menu, which claims version 1.0.2498.0 is the latest version. What gives?

    I just watched the whole thing, too. The number of views went from 3434 to 3460 in the 45 minutes it took to watch it. It definitely sounds like a DVD is coming, because they mentioned a disc and deleted scenes at least twice during the video.

    I watched my sister-in-law in a vehicle with a camera shortly after she bought it. She couldn't back up to save her ass, since she spent more time looking at the camera's feed then actually turning her head to look behind her. Took her three tries to back out of our neighbor's crowded driveway with no success. Then her sister's husband did it first try. He just looked out of the damned window. Newsflash - the camera has a limited field of view. The difference is that if you turn your head to look, you've probably got a better chance to see what may be outside of the camera angle, or moving into it.

    Why you ask? Because the first person to point out how useless all of the scanning is will be singled out as anti-American by their opposing Congresscritters. Same problem when it comes to common sense with child porn laws and sexting by those under the age of 18. If you don't throw the book at the offender, you're not "thinking of the children!"
