inflation eats away at my income a little every year. I'm being told that addressing climate change would kill jobs and in turn wages. And you know, it probably would for a lot of people. Even if it makes new jobs there's no guarantee I'll get them or that they'll pay the same as I make now.
We've got too many people living hand to mouth who can be easily kowtowed with threats of job loss. They'll come out and vote in any democracy against climate change because climate change is years from now and the rent's due today.
If you want to do something about climate change you need to fix their economy first. Until then they'll fight you tooth and nail and they've got the backing of the billionaires (who don't want to pay taxes to fix things) so they'll win.

Kim pulled out hen he realized he could make Trump look silly by doing so. He denied Trump his Nobel Peace Prize. Also, Kim already got what he really wanted: America acknowledges him as the legitimate ruler of North Korea. As soon as we agreed to talks we did that. That's why nobody was dumb enough to agree to them... until Trump.
Even then we might have salvaged _something_ from this whole mess if Trump hadn't backed out of the Iran deal and started talking about the "Libya Model". We literally threatened to kill a guy we're trying to have peace talks with.

Then they decided to go all in on competing with Apple (they're big in Europe) and raised prices to $0.99 cents a song. That makes music sampling and finding new bands a lot harder. I could drive down to my local record store.... 40 miles away. Haven't had much luck on youtube either. It doesn't help that I'm old and the kind of music I like is dead and gone.
I bought from Best Buy with the extended warranty. The things are notoriously fragile and it keeps dying on me. I'm following the instructions to clean and maintain it (it's not that hard) but about every 6-12 months it dies. I'm on #3 right now and Best Buy keeps replacing them.
I don't _want_ to replace the thing. It's a pain to drive all the way to BB every few months. The thing is so bloody convenient when it works I don't want to give it up though.
My point is there's a lot of nice but fragile/shoddy products out there. And that's from BB. I can't even imagine how shoddy a lot of the stuff on Amazon is.
the entire thing has an air of mafiosa about it. They've been caught numerous times selling their services on the basis of "If you know what's good for you". They're upset because if they can't put a bad review at the top of Google's search results they don't have a business model.
