Seriously though, Voter fraud is a red herring to distract from Voter Suppression. Jury Duty, Voting on Tuesday, disenfranchising felons (and making it impossible for them to get their rights back), the constant voter roll purges (targeted at left leaning voters) and my personal favorite stationing armed police in riot gear outside polls in predominately black neighborhoods to "keep order". Heck, there's been a few instances of people being prosecuted and jailed for "voter fraud" because they helped an elderly relative who couldn't see vote, which is in itself suppression (don't vote or we'll throw you in prison).
This stuff works, especially in a country with such slim margins of victory. Trump one the Whitehouse by a few hundred thousand votes.
it's fine if they want to spend money on the research. I'm all for it. I just don't want to rely on them for major breakthroughs, which with the last 40 years of nonstop tax and science funding cuts seems to be what we're doing.
on for a major leap in human civilization. We did that for hundreds (thousands?) of years and progress was really, really slow. It took the government to get us to the moon. That's just because it's really, really expensive to do basic research and it takes a long time to pay off. The occasional board aristocratic (which, let's face it, is what these folks are) is about as good a system as watery tarts handing our swords.
we get virtually all our information tech from an extremely aggressive and authoritarian regime. That's not up for debate. It's just a fact. We probably should keep a close eye on that.
right? Facebook has consistently been caught making it easy for advertisers to target racists whites. Facebook is a company. They make money. Perhaps we should be asking ourselves why there is so much money to be made targeting that particular demographic.
I'd like to think it's all the Russian trolls buying up ads to rile up a small percentage of Americans. It's also possible that small percentage of racists is worth targeting because they're easy to fleece, especially during a mid-term election where they can be tricked into voting against their best economic interests.

A few got caught saying they would intentionally hurt America because it would hurt Obama and the Dems more. That's literally terrorism (causing fear and suffering for political gain). But nobody outside of the extreme left press ever called them out on it.

What I'm saying that wrecking shit internationally has a long, long standing history. Doing it with a computer is no more novel than running a taxi cab service or an auction house with a computer.
being transgender often comes with a raft of health problems. Not the ones caused by trying to transition but just plain ones you're born with. Physically a lot of transgender people have huge hormonal imbalances. They're literally trapped in the body of the other sex, having very high/low levels of testosterone/estrogen (plus other sex hormones). This also leads to a variety of mental problems from coping with the mixed up hormones, to say nothing of the mental problems you get when you're an effeminate male or butch female.
Getting a diagnoses opens up all sorts of treatment options. Not just gender reassignment (lots of them don't want that). But if you don't recognize transgender as a thing then you're left fighting with your insurance company to get them to pay for anything.

Obama put several pro H1-B executive orders through (most notably allowing their spouses to work, which puts downward pressure on their wages since they can count on income from their spouses) that Trump could kill with the stroke of a pen.
Again, funny how when he can rile his base with social issues that don't cost him a dime he's all over it, but when it's time to stand up for workers it's always "later".
unless you define "regular guy" as somebody whose dad funneled millions of dollars through him when he was a kid to dodge taxes. Me? I'm a regular guy and I was lucky to get a couple books and a Nintendo from my Dad. I also don't go out of my way to be a jerk to transgender people to score cheap political points with my base. Go figure.

In the example above we still have a net loss of diversity because we're down to 5 bears, e.g. their population is likely to go extinct.
