    Why couldn't they just make a plugin for that?

    And, additionally, why did they leave the thick divider bar in place if they were going to neuter it? In typical GUIs, the divider bar is draggable to achieve the resizing - they should have gone with a different kind of divider if they were going to do something like that. The visual cues are wonky in the current implementation.

    That said, such a little feature won't convince me to switch to the forked version. :)

    The fire department captain said that it did cause the fire, albeit not spontaneously. It caused the fire through a lack of common sense; putting a sticker on something won't ever fix that. All it will do is add fuel to the fire.

    Well, it's capable of communication ... and it's constructed sort of like a neural network. If it gains sentience, the term will apply.

    However, since it hasn't yet, perhaps I should have used a calmer and more rational word, such as "analyzed".

    It doesn't have the same visceral impact as "vivisected", but it makes up for that by being both academic and explanatory - unlike "dismantled", which makes it sound like it has a cameo in WALL-E.

    Is "dismantled" really the right word? Shouldn't it be "vivisected", since the botnet is still running?

    Dismantled implies that it's shut down. Last I heard, it was still running, and sub-botnets (tropical depressions?) were being sold. Botnet franchising, if you will.

    This is completely off-topic, but I'm also Canadian, and I'm curious about what it took to get that pilot's license? I've been thinking of getting one myself at some point in the future, specifically with an eye to float planes. They seem to have the most practical application here in BC :)

    It would certainly be an interesting counter-point to programming. :)

    But seriously, I'm using an SB Live! Value 2.0 in my tower ... I bought it many years ago, and I don't plan on upgrading it. If it fails, I'll just use onboard (despite mild crosstalk interference issues; I'm usually using analog wireless headphones anyway, so it hardly matters).

    I used to be interested in one of their MP3 devices, but now I'd probably rather just have an iPod Touch.

    Their corporation is dying, and like all corporate death-dances, they are lashing out in what they think is self-defense. In reality, it's doing more harm than good.
