    I like it how down the left of the screen we have an article which states that the costs over $100,000 cheaper than going with microsoft and down the right we have a microsoft ad saying "META Group found in a study that Linux costs are not lower than Windows" (refresh the page a few times if that ad is not there!). .

    some new MS features could include
    1) BSOD
    2) Reboot after everything
    3) Loads of open ports for virus to quickly attach with root permissions

    i've been wishing that they would cut people off for months. Ever since the blaster worm (i think it was that) Telewest have done feck all about it.

    When I first got telewest the activity light on the front of the modem only lit up when I was accessing the net. These days the light never goes out as there are constant pings against my firewall all from the telewest IP range.

    Oh and don't bother sending abuse any info about possible IP machines that have been infected as they do nothing with them. A number of the IP addresses that I sent them months ago are still busy scanning my machine every so-often..

    lol.. We have one of these at work and is down every few days (best of all it is connected by a parallel cable because it crashes hourly when connected via ethernet!). Shame really because it is rather fast when it does work.

    getting a patch onto the ipod was probably the easy part by either playing with an update and uploading with the ipod updater or (most likely) playing with the partition that contains the main OS. The bootloader itself will be hardwired into the ipod and therefore not available by accessing the disk. All that needed to be done then was to reboot the machine and let his program read the bootloader so that now he should have the block of code that enables the various hardware and therefore work out how to make his own code access the hardware..

    then again this is just a guess

    I am sorry to hear of the difficulties understanding my ways. I only offered you so many options so that I could try and work the way you wanted me to. Not everyone understands my flexibility.

    I wish you success with your new babe called Windows. I understand that she is very strict and will only let you perform the functions that she wants you to perform. I also hear that she is very possesive and will try and stop you talking to others not like her and if you do she will show you her nasty blue side. Not wanting to slag her off I should warn you that she has a habbit of letting others use her, command her to do things you may not like, like giving out your credit card details, using the CPU cycle you paid for to send hundreds of emails to strangers and to allow others to perform criminal acts.

    So this is the end. Maybe one day you will come back and enjoy my freedoms.

    If this is the case then why such a big PR/FUD Campaign against opensource? If microsoft products are so "innovative" then then will out sell the free alternatives that don't "innovate" won't they???

    It getting rather funny microsoft running the "innovative" comment all the time when in my experience (10years ish) the open-source community has been far more innovative. (Hey I hear that I will be able to turn on/off computers using Shorthorn when it is eventually released. I wish linux had a feature like that.. oh..)

    Anyway the one good thing about Microsofts FUD campaign against opensource/linux is that it has enabled me to show a number of clients how good Linux is! After all why else would microsoft spend so much trying to convince everyone that microsoft is better. TCO Studies funded by microsoft. Get the facts website with blatently biased results.

    So microsoft keep up the fud as it is making me loads of $$$ !

    Don't most of the virus out there attack vulnerabilities in Windows? McAfee/Symantec etc provide virus protection to stop the virus getting to windows in the first place? And now microsoft are going to package a virus killer into windows?

    Wouldn't it just be easier to write more secure software in the first place?

    And at the end of the day who in their right mind would trust a microsoft virus killer? If they can't secure their own software what chance do they have of writing a virus killer that stops vulnerabilities in their own software?
