No, she's not a conspiracy theorist, but she sounds surprised by the question and obviously she'd emphasize more medical preparedness, despite the downside of causing a panic.
Not really. In the US, the Supreme Court upheld the right of free speech for students in Tinker vs. Des Moines School District. Students can express as much free speech as they want provided it does not disrupt the learning environment, so outside-of-class speech is protected.
Unfortunately, Bush's appointees have essentially punched a gigantic hole into the previous ruling with Morse v. Fredrick, where the Roberts Court determined that if the school officials have a seemingly good reason, they can abrogate free speech rights. This looks pretty easy to abuse, a school could claim to be protecting student safety and thus have license to patrol facebook and punish students accordingly.
This strikes me as a profoundly bad idea. While we're delegating parental responsibility over to the principal (which is weird), are we also going to hold them accountable if the kids aren't vaccinated or eating healthy enough?
Meh, you could say that about more orthodox parts of the Christian world; Utah and Vatican city, etc. The problem is you can't stereotype all 2 Billion Christians that way nor the wide variety of governments and diverse public opinions, the same way you can't stereotype all 1.5 Billion Muslims and their diversity of opinions. Case in point, there are 2x as many Muslims in China than there are in Saudi Arabia.
No, they weren't torture photos. Some were photos of empty jail cells, some photos of bags of shredded documents, others were stacks of VHS tapes with some 'explicit' Arabic writing (they had sex tapes of some Egyptian and foreign celebs, likely as blackmail). I'd show you, but of course they're down. I'm sure some news articles and twitter posts mirrored a few of them.
Shame on you Flickr, they're not even explicit. Hope someone has a mirror, and this time posted elsewhere on another site. Let's not reward them with more traffic.
No, it's an issue because despite the fact that there have been numerous terrorist attacks this year by non-Muslims he's ONLY going to focus on Muslims. Also, he's not letting Muslim organizations or supporters testify despite the fact that he's been saying a lot of stuff about them and that these Muslim organizations have done a lot of anti-terrorist work with the FBI. Actual law enforcement officers aren't allowed to testify either, so he'll never have his theories disproved.
If Congress were to hold hearings on Wall Street Fraud and Madoff-style scandals, but only focus on Jews, it would also be "hate speech."
Baloney, King is my rep and he's one of the dumber ones, and right-wing to boot. This is a guy who faulted Bush for not being anti-terrorist enough, who harbors wild conspiracy theories about Muslims in America (but is downplaying the fact that he led fundraisers for the IRA in the 90s), and even writes fictional novels about Christian and Muslim terrorists joining to attack America (oh and who does the main character resemble but himself). He was the stooge on TV who said Valerie Plame was no importance and the media should be shot for daring to blame Karl Rove. Also, he thinks WikiLeaks is a terrorist group.
The improvements to Airplay are pretty underrated. You can now stream your entire iTunes library to your iPhone/iPad/iPod touch (if they're on the same LAN). That's kinda a big improvement, because so many people on/. whine how they can't fit their entire library on only 64GB of space. Videos too.
This brings up several questions. WebOS is a dedicated touchscreen app. Using one of those OSes with a mouse is much less appealing and doesn't feel as productive. Ever tried running the iOS emulator (comes with the SDK) or somesuch? It's just not meant for it.
Also, wouldn't you have to recompile all the apps? ARM is a different processor
Wars still take place without nukes; look at the Balkans or portions of Africa. Economically and politically they're harder to sustain these days, the adage "no two countries with McDonalds in them go to war with each other" holds true in general. No nukes are better than asymmetric nukes; Israel's possession of them has triggered an arms race in the region (especially since the Israeli far right has openly threatened and pushed for their use on Iran, which makes Iranians want nukes back)
Ronald Reagan called for a world without nukes, and took concrete steps to slash the arsenals of both the US and USSR.
Obama calls for a future where there will be zero nukes, and his administration's policy is to have both US and Russia reduce the number of nukes by several thousand. And for this, he's rewarded with screeches from the left that Obama hates America, wants to let the terrorists win, doesn't understand war, etc. This is all coming from the Right, a group that is trying to portray Reagan as a saint. How odd that Obama copying Reagan gets jeers.
Anyone who gets into Paradise gets the pleasure of servants and wives in heaven. (Therefore terrorists are excluded since they're committing sins like murder)
Nice try, but there's no "book of Suran." The link you cited is flawed since he claims that the word in the Quran came from Syrian, which is unlikely given that the Prophet was illiterate and didn't have much contact with the Syrians, the portions of the Quran that mention hur just dont make sense with the idea of raisins, and several hadith clarify that these are women you get to marry in heaven, they are in a way like angels in that they have no souls and are created to serve those in heaven.
I think that a lot of people in the/. crowd care. For those that don't, it's more of the "We have it, so we don't quite care if others do or don't." Look at how people in Massachusetts have universal healthcare, but then elected a senator Scott Brown who voted to deny the same system to the rest of the country. People who had healthcare didn't seem to care about those who didn't, since they were satisfied themselves.
If pressed, you should claim that you were not sure if the person pulling you over was an actual cop and you'd like some verification. Given that there was a rash of "fake" cops pulling women over and robbing/molesting them, that's not unfounded. They'd have to prove your intent otherwise in court, which they probably wouldn't bother to try.

Sending messages to the future isn't very hard. I buried one in my backyard.

It's goatse. How come there's no kind of Flag Adult content warning on WordPress like there is for Blogger?
This was a meme in 2010. The new 'party' is a repeat
Works on the latest version of Safari.
Much more fun than my previous favorite browser game, Kick Ass (imagine playing Asteroids but shooting all the objects on a page).
Quite right. Gawker has some

Can't you use large inductor coils or capacitors to prevent surges of that nature?

There are numerous tweet-lengthening services like TwitLonger or Deck.ly that have a URL to the full posting

Depends. There's a jailbreak out already, although its not as simple as Dev-Team's will be. The unlock is still forthcoming

State prisons are where all the murders, bank robbers, and rapists go. Federal Prisons have a larger percentage of White Collar Criminals, I think.
I've always been annoyed by that mistake that Office Space only compounded.
