Evolution and ID/Creationism are not mutually exclusive, a creator could have just created the building blocks of life. The real question is whether or not life just happened spontaneously, or if we required some intelligent being to make us. Then more questions arise. If we required a creator, wouldn't the creator require a creator? When does the chain stop? Then comes in those who say "God has just always existed!" If it is possible for God to just "be", and to have always existed, there is no reason that life in general couldn't have just formed out of no where.
Well, I could probably go back and forth on this for hours, but the point has been made.
A company could require only certain cameras be used. My camera can not be accessed directly on Windows or Linux. I must use the camera wizard and gphoto2. Companies could do research and ONLY use cameras that work this way, rather than those that work as USB storage devices.
Is windows really limited to 10mb/s due to the network implementation? Now I am really glad I convince people to use Linux, we have one server pushing 480Mbits/s or so using Lighttpd.
...maybe even write a printer driver so that something I buy actually works with my open sores PC.
I think 90% of the Linux/FreeBSD/Other complaints I hear, is about hardware not working properly. People seem to blame the operating system for the lack of drivers for their hardware. Last I looked, hardware manufacturers are responsible fro writing the drivers. Hardware is NOT submitted to Microsoft for drivers to be made. We are fortunate enough that we have some very talented developers who DO make drivers for hardware, not because they have to, but because they can. Someday maybe people will call manufacturers and complain there is not a driver for other operating systems, but until then, I hope they at least realize, its not the fault of the operating system.
I worked at OfficeMax and Staples for a total of 5 years, we never had a shortage of people buying Windows or Office. When Windows XP was released, there was even a big promotion where you got all kinds of free stuff. We sold out of XP in two days.
In reality, if you shop around, you can probably find OEM versions cheaper, and of course the big OEMs get it for even less. The average person though will most likely goto OfficeMax, BestBuy, Staples, or some other retail outlet, and pay full price. Then again, the average person probably isn't building their own computer either.
I know most people here hate ads, but I have to ask this.
Assuming Microsoft releases such a product, if an ad blocking program started blocking the ads, would that be cracking the program, or mearly blocking the ads? Would Microsoft be hypocritical in providing a popup blocker with IE?
When I was a teen, I had a ball python. I bred mice to keep a steady food supply. The snake had graduated from eating pinkies, and was just starting on the small babies who would now run around. I put one in... later, so did my brother. The next morning I woke up to find my snake dead, with its eyes eaten out, and most of the scales on its head gone. I must have had some fearless mice.
I have heard since then (from a few different sources), that when mice are bred for food, they become more agressive for some reason. I was never told exactly why, but just that alot of people had noticed the pattern.
...so that driver developers wouldn't need to put their drivers into the main kernel tree.
My RAID controller did not have drivers distributed with the kernel until recently (ITE8212). Before that I just downloaded the driver source, and built against my current kernels source. Alot off distros offer a kernel-devel package of sorts to allow just that. Please bear in mind that I did NOT RTFA, but it seems that the real motive would be so they did not have to release the source code for their drivers at all.
Women donate eggs to other women/couples. What if a child found out they were from a donated egg? Is the woman that gave up the egg also an evil person who, as some posters have implied, gave up a child for beer money?
I think in the case of egg and sperm donation, a background check should be done before the people dontate, once the donation is given, NO identifiable data should be linked to it. Keep record of the race of the person, their education, and maybe some other general points to help a person choose good seed, but no names and no birth dates.

Is that supposed to mean its good? I really don't like Visual Studio personally. I own a license for it, but I primarily use the command line tools.
C. Applying album art.
Why do people have to apply album art? Is it worth keeping?
The targeted ads appear on peoples web sites also, not just the search results.

Like the computers in a cabinet, and only allow bonded techs to get in to install peripherals :)
I know its not realistic, but alot of security problems can be fixed if we give up convenience.

The cost of your gasoline is not the responsibility of the store, or manufacturer, and I hope you don't bitch about gas prices.
I always preferred just ripping the anti-theft stickers off, and throwing them on the floor for people step on.

Yes, I was pointing out that retail prices were more than what the parent post was implying. Not everyone gets things at OEM costs.

Man, you people and your technology. I send a request to the web master via carrier pigeon, and he sends the contents of the site back.

Sacre Blue! There are thousands of denial of service attacks happening! Ok, we need to surrender now, and shut off the internet!
Yeah, even funnier is that its a Brittish company doing the suing NOT an american one. Check the whois on the domain.

only if you have other DNA to compare to. Everyones DNA isn't on record somewhere.

Yeah, I hate it when my porn gets blocked by the steel walls.
WHOOOOSH!
I believe he meant that as a quote from a not so bright person at MXS.
