I saw something similar on CNN Headline News last night where they did state it affected "MS products", but did not specifically mention MS SQL Server. The icing was they showed stock footage of Windows 2000 Professional boxes coming off of a conveyer belt.:^)
I'm not really a "KDE guy", I like Windowmaker, but I think a good reason to be upset about a thing like this is simple misrepresentation. If KDE comes off bad on Red Hat, the biggest name distro around, that might stick with new users.
So yeah, I think leaving KDE off might be better than misrepresenting it.
I'm not a member of their club, so I can't tell them directly, but they might wanna create the list of packages using this as a guide... one CD, works for me.;^)
Wow, thanks for your condecending remarks. It's just when I see something billed as "one of the funniest sites I've seen all year" and then end up quite dissapointed, I make a note to mention it.
Dry humor can be quite funny. I didn't think this was. Let's agree to disagree, OK?
I guess we'll just have to have a followup article later on telling us how many people thought this WAS a real site and tried to join the crusade. Now that would be funny.;^)
Until then, we should probably keep unfinished parody sites off of the slashdot mainpage.
...but aren't "parody" sites supposed to be, well, I dunno... funny?
I was expecting well-written and hilarious articles like this one but instead it was rather dry. I have a hard time believing this isn't really a site decrying videogame violence as opposed to a parody.
It seems to me that some web designers use it almost like a crutch. As if some needless animation that I have to wait through is going to enhance my enjoyment of a website. If anything, it just makes me want to visit elsewhere.
tetraethyl lead? This did not "change the way we live".
Sure it did! It "lead" the way for all of those "Unleaded Fuel Only" stickers that almost all of us have on our dashboards. I dunno about you, but I sure sleep better at night knowing that's there.
WalMart does not sell PCs for a living. It's jusy one of many products.
If this product tanks WalMart will not be hurt at all.
These are bare-bones, bottom of the pile PCs that are selling because they are cheap.
This sounds like a familiar campaign...

We had one... up in Waltham. Wasn't huge but there it was, overlooking rt. 95.
I used to go to MS sponsored events up there, but I've noticed lately that the MS sign isn't on the building anymore. Can't say for sure whether they're still around or not.
And MS isn't known for spinning things their way, right?
Besides, there are more than enough people buying games for Xbox that your symbolic stab at toppling the structure will not even show up as a blip on the radar.
Ok, since your post is redundant and stale, let me give you the redundant and stale reply. Buying an Xbox and not buying software only gives MS inflated market share numbers. They can then tell developers "Look how many consoles we've sold!" in order to get more exclusive games, etc.
Don't like MS for some reason? It's simple. Don't buy their products. Buying them to hit them with "hardware costs" is counter productive.
CNN also reports that they have heard from certain "federal sources" that this attack may in fact have been either connected to Saddam Hussein or the Al-Quida network.
Pocket PC, eh? From the impression I got of your question, perhaps a hardcore 100% conversion isn't for you, at least right now. You already have the MS software up and running and assumedly licensed, so perhaps you should, for now, take it a bit slower.
If your HD is big enough, repartition it out so you can dual boot into RH8 or Mandrake 9 for a while and get comfortable enough to do everything you want to do with it. Then, when the next big Windows OS release comes out, instead of getting that and throwing more money in the MS coffer, you can just jump ship to Linux full on. By then, there will even be better support for your handheld too.
If all else fails, get an abacus, a slate and a piece of limestone!

I don't own one, but don't cell phones have keypad locks that you type in a PIN to unlock? Sounds like an appropriate time to use it, yes?

Just a thought...

I dunno, maybe I'm just in a bad mood, but that doesn't feel like "parody" material. Far too dry.
I was expecting well-written and hilarious articles like this one but instead it was rather dry. I have a hard time believing this isn't really a site decrying videogame violence as opposed to a parody.
Sorry for not contributing to the discussion at all, but I just wanted to let you know that I think that post you just made kicked ass. Bravo!

Which was...? Hell, I don't even know what day you refer to by "today".
from what i could find (you piqued my curiousity) police code 138 just means that the officer is available. nothing exciting there. ;^)

What's good for the goose is good for the gander!
Here's one.
That would be the Infectious Grooves, not Suicidal. ;^)
I used to go to MS sponsored events up there, but I've noticed lately that the MS sign isn't on the building anymore. Can't say for sure whether they're still around or not.
So how do they know it's broken again? ;^)

Now please, let's not speak of this again. ;^)

Now, is that pronounced "jag-wahr" or "jag-yew-are"?
