You're right. PCs and consoles will both enjoy a strong user base. I was merely pointing out that you have the option to use other input devices if you so choose on the newer generation consoles. Just like you can get a Dual Shock type gamepad controller for your PC, you can use a keyboard on a PS2.
I like options. So when options are made available, I take advantage of those that help me.
Chatting online with a gamepad, entering every letter one at a time, sucks - why not offer a keyboard option? It doesn't mean that my PS2 is being assimilated into a compact PC, it just means that I get my chat message out quicker.;^)
Actually, I twisted nothing. Original poster said that crime was the fault of the victim for not protecting themselves better from it. He used an example from when he was in the Army. I used a different, yet agreeably more striking example. In neither case do I see the victim being at fault.
Just because a crime is easy to execute, doesn't make it any less immoral or wrong.
I agree that innocent victims should be protected, but I also think that you're confusing ignorance with stupidity. What about teaching the network admins how to protect their network instead of exploiting them? Why not help the new recruit to remember to lock his footlocker more often?
This response comes rather late, but I hope you read it and see what I was trying to say.
Yes, that is what warchalkers do. They go into the building, and ask the receptionist for the IT department head. After a brief sit down with the IT head, the IT head realizes that his network is insecure, but decides that since the warchalkers were such swell guys, he'll let them use his bandwidth.
And on top of that, he agrees to allow them to put up a sign outside his office building inviting others to come join the free lunch! Oh joy!
Oh wait, that's NOT how it works? Wha? How could I have been SO NAIVE?!
Warchalkers aren't out to help anyone but themselves and others who aren't willing to pay for their own bandwidth. They're not out to help Mr. IT Head secure his network, they're looking for a free ride.
Really? Oh crap, sorry about that. I'll go patch up that server tomorrow, I promise. It's just that's it's been really busy around here lately and I have to go pick up my son at school...
linksys probably did it that way (amongst other reasons) for home broadband connections that keep track of the mac addresses that it allows on the network (mine allows only 3).
but i agree, you wanna call it a bridge, make it a bridge.;^)
I dunno about TV since I'm at work, but WEEI - a sports talk radio station here in Boston - is going commercial free and changing their format from sports talk to talk radio for the day.
aside: I'm sitting here in my office, and it's dead quiet. An announcement was made about an hour ago over the PA for a moment of silence, and I haven't heard or spoken a word since. Chilling.
Anyway, I know what you mean about the TV coverage, FOX cable news (one example) has been one of the worst (IMHO). I recently removed all cable news from my TV tuner but for CNN which I thought seemed to be the least (for lack of a better term) sleazy about their coverage.
Anyone here agree/disagree? What stations coverage, if any, do you see as the most levelheaded?
your sig: If you fall off a building, go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will be like hey, free dummy
no no no, it's: "If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.";^)
Sorry, but how much RAM is in these systems, especially the iMac? I have 192M in my fiance's iMac DV 400 - presently running OS 8.6, wanna know if she'll measure up with similar results.
I don't have cable, digital or otherwise. For movies I have my Netflix subscription, and I get the major networks with a cheap antenna I got from Radio Shack. That should tide anyone over once they adjust, no?
YMMV, but we get enough channels to find something half-way decent on most of the time, I get Fox for the Simpsons and can see quite a few locally televised Red Sox games. (Go Sox!):^P Dropped cable a long time ago as I was sick of their high rates and horrid customer service and really haven't looked back.
well, i think anyone paying all that money for an iBook deserves more than that, and if you think that's silly, fine. no wonder apple is such a niche market, where seemingly anyone who wants more than what they are presented is labled ignorant.
;^) Perfect for flushing out lamer campers.
Carmack has stated that he plans to port to at least XBox, if not PS2 and GC as well. So I guess you'll get your wish. ;^)
I'll even bring the beer. :^)

I use a keyboard to chat in Tony Hawk 3 online.
When it comes down to it, it's all in the hands of the game developers... it'll all come together nicely with time. :^)

It makes me wonder to whom would the government be selling these frequencies to. What other uses are they good for?
If not only to control how citizens get their entertainment/news media more tightly, or to sell more decoders/TV sets, this doesn't make any sense.
Someone please explain the logic and explain to me how this benefits Joe Average.
I guess I'm just -1 Ignorant. :^/
I think what you meant to say is: I believe all speech should be protected, no matter its content.

The world not work that way, meathead.
(I'll save you all the time, -1 Flamebait)

Ha ha ha h... *thud*

the webpage seems to hint towards a secret room, it'll be interesting to see how they decide to pull it off.

ok, mod me down now - jack handy haters!
Guess who now makes sure to discharge on the more easily dismissable VCR every time he has a turn at GTA3? ;^)
Thanks!
why?
cuz you're fuckin' fired!
ha ha - good movie tie-in ;^)
hey all, if anyone reading this goes, be sure to check out the minibosses - old college friends of mine who play video game rock!
Drop the cable, she'll get over it. Seriously.
