This just another attempt of theirs to eschew their customers and get a bigger slice of the pie. Methinks their egos have grown too big for their britches.
Anytime you change the architecture of a chip there will be side effects. It is inevitable. I am interested to see what the repercussions might be it terms of code, performance, and even reliability. If they implemented this well, perhaps these side effects will be minimal and unnoticeable, in which case this could be a major development!
Pun intended.
High winds or storms can knock out power lines, causing people to lose power, but if the ethernet connection is hooked up to said poles, we'll lose internet as well. Oh, whoa is me.
Then again, I suppose that unless you keep a generator to run your computers in case of a power outage, it wouldn't really matter if the internet is not working while you're power is out. It's the principle that matters though!
funny, I was given a Soul Asylum CD for free a few years ago from Tower Records when they were giving away free CDs. Other fine choices included "Blind Date with Joanie and Chachie" and "Lord Tariq".
Needless to say, those are no better than frisbees to me.
"Sharman said the companies used Kazaa Lite, an ad-less replica of its software, to get onto the network, and that they violated its own software's license agreement by sending warning messages to people on its network."
At least the RIAA knows what the best Kazaa program is!
Whenever my sister goes to Best Buy I make sure to go along so she doesn't spend way too much on something or buy anything she doesn't need.
Then again, I find that with most women you must accompany them everywhere and your chances of them not spending more money than they should or buying something they don't need are still relatively low...
I think that property rights will work themselves out in the future. And yes, this is colonialism in its fullest. That is what the world was founded on and I don't think the human race is capable of coming up with a better way of doing it. By nature we are a exploratory creature and it is high time we continued this tradition by bridging the gap between our world and the rest of the universe.
Who knows, maybe while on Mars people will actually get along and there will be no "borders" to separate us. Then the Martians can emerge from their underground layers and take over our settlement, causing George W. Bush XIII to nuke Mars.
Then again, some people call me an idealist:)
all I really want to be able to do is learn how to fly a helicopter while standing next to it in under 10 seconds... maybe learn some kung fu?:)
load the jump program!
Well, it looks like FOX has finally began to rue the day they took Family Guy off the air. Hopefully we will once again be viewing Stewie's childlike antics and crazy schemes.
good... good...
wait, so you're saying that a program that installs itself and eats up system resources without your consent, and relaying information to a host is NOT spyware?
odd..

This is his crappy geocities mirror for now, so go slashdot that too:)
Oddly enough, this guy is one of my roomates and he was bored one night and decided to create something from floppies like the enterprise he saw on some other website. You should see the mess he made.
Oh yeah, way to go Mike!:)
In my experience with physics classes the teacher will put on the test the problems that incorporate the MOST amount of synthesis possible. You must know everything to complete them basically. I got a 35% on the final in that class. That was a B+. I am pretty sure even the teacher had trouble with some of those problems though... my roomate ended up flunking out of that class.

Can I work for you? ...please? :)
Good choice in cars... I drive a '96 240sx. :)
Love them S chassis...
Whoever modded this is an idiot. It is clearly on topic. There is a "High Fidelity" reference, don't mod me down because you're dumb.
It's "Death Blossom", you insensitive clod!
sorry, had to do it
"Now for your listening pleasure it's Adware.Gator at number 7 with a bullet..." yay for High Fidelity!
Just wait till it has babies and you call them "The Beowulf Cluster".
Maybe I should download it and find out.
as to what Operating System they were running?
gar, too soon to be Slashdotted says I!
yeah, I noticed that too... poor weak server can't handle the meager attention it has got. What's it going to do when the herds come?
