  2. Believing whatever you like on Seven Rules For Spotting Bogus Science · · Score: 1

People don't know what they want to believe. How can anyone want to believe anything but the truth. Since they aren't believing what they want to, the truth, what's to say that what I believe isn't closer to the truth than what they believe. The best way to resolve this is if each of us tries to convice the others that what they believe is right.

  3. Death and time on Brain Prosthesis Ready For Testing · · Score: 1

My concern for getting anything done has nothing to do with death. If I knew for certain that I would die, I probably wouldn't do anything. The reason why I don't put things off is because I want things today.

People should always struggle to get other people to adopt the truth...even if they themselves don't actually know what that truth actually is. That is why they try.
People are better off knowing the truth, don't you think? Isn't it easier for the truth to be adopted if someone is stuggling for it? And since we don't know for certain what that truth is, the best we can do is to struggle for what we currently know.

all ground-to-ground radio transmitters are polarized in the same direction in order to reflect off the ionosphere
My 802.11b is polarized to bounce off the ionosphere? With its range, that seems like a waste to me.

  11. The right one on The Myth of Radio Spectrum Interference · · Score: 1

The right one is sending the address you expect to receive. Then you can expect the data to follow to be the data you expected to receive reasonably enough.

  12. Not entirely on The Myth of Radio Spectrum Interference · · Score: 3, Informative

While the article brings up spread spectrum the concept of non-interference is not spread spectrum. If you put two highly directional transmitters at one side of an X and two recievers at the other two sides, the two signals won't interfere at those receivers locations but if a receiver was placed at the center of the X the two signals will. If you can wall off the direction of one of the signals from recieving then the other signal will be clear at the center.

They use SSNs initially to keep track of how much money you are paying into the SS system, and they usually catch it when two different people are paying into the same account. Besides, there can only be one name on the account, so one person would wind up with a SS card with the name of the other person on it, though I suppose the last person assigned the number would have his name on the account. As soon as you give it to your employer they check with the SSA and would come back with the other person's name on the account.
