  1. reliable source? on Examining the Treo 650 Smartphone · · Score: 0

i know us geeks are always excited when new innovative gagdets hit the market - but how about posting stuff that isn't based on threads posted on a forum? Forums aren't necessarily the best place for news. That being said, i love my treo 600 and can't wait for the Treo Ace.

  2. Re:Eh, whatever... on A Camaro That Leaves A Wake · · Score: 0

you're not looking at the big pisture - its not just power - weight ratio that determines top speed of a car - its also gearing. The same gearing that allows for a top speed of 40 MPH on water is most likely limiting street driving to 125 MPH. Call me crazy - but I wouldn't want to be in any boat/car that do either of those speeds anyways.

  3. Re:Camaro with a WRX Engine on A Camaro That Leaves A Wake · · Score: 0

i would have to guess that the craft was built on the camaro chassi srather than the WRX for a number of reasons - 1st being that the Camaro chasis being larger and having a less sophisticated suspension system, would make for a better boat candidate. Secondly, Camaros are by far cheaper than WRX chassis are. 3rd - since this is a compromise build being BOAT first, and CAR second, it would be an impratical build to have a boat with AWD.

  4. Re:WRX or STi? on A Camaro That Leaves A Wake · · Score: 0

in the US, the WRX is sold with a 2.0l while the STI is sold with a 2.5l. While essentially the same block, the huge increase in displacement gives the 75+ HP bump as compared to the 2.0l.

  6. Common Sense on Mod Chips Up, Game Industry Revenues Down? · · Score: 0

Its pretty futile to try to argue against the point of the article. An entire industry exists that supports the pirating of software for the platform gamers. In Toronto, mod chips, mod chipping services and pirated software are sold openly in shopping malls and through out the city. Despite the "mod-chips-aren't-only-tools-for- pirating" mantra that many /.ers cry when faced with this type of criticism - the 1st thought that occurs to hardcore users' when they hear "mod-chip" is not "ooooh - now I can back up my precious copy of Final Fantasy", its more along the lines of "ooooh - i won't spend 50 bucks on that Jet Li game - but i'll definitely torrent it" Now i'm not trying to ignore the small number of people that actually try to run linux on everything - but just like life, all it takes is a few rotten apples to ruin the bunch.

I would much rather sport a Swatch rather than a Timex. Perhaps if Tag Heuer or Movado released a watch with Speedpass, I would consider it - but I refues to wear anything that is considered "jewelry" at Walmart.

Let's see - if you were the CEO of a car company who's trying to compete with the Goliath of the all car companies - and the CEO of Exxon/Mobil wanted you to testify on your behalf - you'd turn him down in the name of street cred?
