I use the MusicBrainz tagger sometimes, and it works by comparing the audio signature of a song to the one in its database. This seems like the same sort of idea, but MusicBrainz tags files completly wrong a good percentage of the time, even listing the wrong artist - title info as a 100% match. I think this kind of technology has a ways to go before it could hold up in court or whatever.
Here's a mod for the Archos Jukebox. It seems to be the same basic idea, and is probably doable with any HD based MP3 player. Also for archos owners who may not have it yet, Rockbox is a great replacement for the crappy firmware that came with the thing.
Before we were supposed to not buy CDs and support artist we like by going to their shows and buying their merch, but now the industry gets a cut of that too. Might as well just download the songs from p2p and send the band a check for $.30 cents or whatever they get per cd.
Another botched attempt by the navy at cloaking, like the Philadelphia Experiment, only this time it was a fighter and it rematerialized in the ship just like The Pegasus in that one episode of TNG.
Directed-Energy Weapon [DEW]: (DOD) A system using directed energy primarily as a direct means to damage or destroy enemy equipment, facilities, and personnel. [1]
From some of the other pages I gather DEW's are EM and RF weapons, which i thought weren't ready for deployment yet.
Technically Mallrats is a prequil to Clerks, Julie Dwyer died in the pool the night before Mallrats takes place and Randal and Dante went to her funeral the day after that. There's also a timeline of events in the booklet in the Chasign Amy DVD.
the easter egg from Summoner making a little good-natured fun of D&D
That was the first thing i thought of too, but if you didn't know, the video is summoner, but the original audio is an old sketch by
The Dead Alewives. Theres a part two to that, you can probably find it on p2p, one of them brings a girl along, hilarity ensues.
I got a pop-up at work today that faked a command prompt window. Your average person will freak out even more when presented with something like that. I think it was for some history killer or something.
Probably only about.001% of recipients will actually buy the product, but spammers keep on, because as small of a percentage as that is, its still a profit from whats essentially free mass advertising.
There's some treaty we're ignoring that prohibits developing new nukes with a yield of less than 5 megatonnes or something like that. But we're developing low yeild bunker buster nukes that go against this treaty and our own prior policy of nukes as a deterrant and not as first strike or general weapons.
UFO Hippie: What about that floating pig out there!?!?Government Man from the Government: Ha ha ha, that is a government pig.

Not to troll, but does anyone really care about netscape anymore?
Shit, we had boring happy meal toys when i was a kid, they didn't even light up or move under their own power or anything.
But i've never heard of a case of Karoshi in america.
So we've got wardriving and warflying or whatever, so what do we call this? Warsailing, waryachting, warboating...

Just call it "Pentium^2"
Eek the Cat.
This temporal cold war bullshit from enterprise is why none of that has happened yet. Blame that for our current lack of flying cars.
