  3. Still not a great solution... on Napster, Audio Fingerprinting, and the Future of P2P · · Score: 4, Interesting

I use the MusicBrainz tagger sometimes, and it works by comparing the audio signature of a song to the one in its database. This seems like the same sort of idea, but MusicBrainz tags files completly wrong a good percentage of the time, even listing the wrong artist - title info as a 100% match. I think this kind of technology has a ways to go before it could hold up in court or whatever.

  4. And for those of us with an Archos... on Zen And The Art of Nomad Hacking · · Score: 3, Informative

Here's a mod for the Archos Jukebox. It seems to be the same basic idea, and is probably doable with any HD based MP3 player. Also for archos owners who may not have it yet, Rockbox is a great replacement for the crappy firmware that came with the thing.

  5. Now wha are we supposed to do? on Record Labels Looking for a Cut of Tour Revenues · · Score: 1

Before we were supposed to not buy CDs and support artist we like by going to their shows and buying their merch, but now the industry gets a cut of that too. Might as well just download the songs from p2p and send the band a check for $.30 cents or whatever they get per cd.

  6. New PX... on USS Ronald Reagan Commissioning Tomorrow · · Score: 1

Another botched attempt by the navy at cloaking, like the Philadelphia Experiment, only this time it was a fighter and it rematerialized in the ship just like The Pegasus in that one episode of TNG.

That was the first thing i thought of too, but if you didn't know, the video is summoner, but the original audio is an old sketch by The Dead Alewives. Theres a part two to that, you can probably find it on p2p, one of them brings a girl along, hilarity ensues.
