My local (and favorite) College Radio station actually keeps an archive of all their shows for the past two weeks on their web site. I dont know if yours does this, but its really great. If i miss a show i often download it and stick it on a cd tolisten to it during the blues drive or some other show that i'm less than enthusiastic about. Another bonus is that you can back it up and catch the name of the artists from the DJ.

I dont know if your pack is anything like mine was, but we only had the pinewood derby every 3 years, the other 2 years we'd have the Space Derby and the Raingutter Rigotta(sp?). The the Raingutter Rigotta was always fun, you build a little boat and have to blow it down the length of an endcapped gutter full of water, the trick was a good keel. The spacederby was ok, but heres a tip. Never spray paint your rocket! It'll partially disolve the styrofoam weakening the rocket to the point when you wind up the rubber band (rubber band and propeller power) the rocket would fall apart. It was a failue, but at least it was a spectacular failure, obscuring the other rockets in a cloud of foam particles. :D

  18. Borwser Wars on Why IE Is So Fast ... Sometimes · · Score: 1, Offtopic

I have all four of the (IMO) major browsers on my system. I ditched IE, not because it was slow, but because certain pop-ups would cause it to frequently crash, i got Opera, and have been very happy. My computer also came with Netscape 6, and lord is it slow, nuf said. I'd heard good things about Mozilla, and downloaded it to see how it stacked up against Opera. It didn't, it was almost as slow as Netscape 6. If you dont mind the ad on the free version, Opera 6.01 is definitly the best IMO, tabbed, no pop-ups, loads fast, loads pages fast. Internet explorer is a decent browser, i still use it ocasionally for some e-commerce, and some flash games that dont work with Opera. Moz is decent, but blocked pop-ups and tabbed browsing dont make up for its slowness. Netscape, *shakes head* what happened, it used to be decent. Opera is definitly worth the $29.95 or whatever. I'm thinking a lot of people who use and staunchly defend Mozilla all used to use Netscape just to avoid Microsoft in general and switched for the extra features. Seriously, everyone should give Opera a try.

...if I'm being charged for an apple, I know that, theoretically, the cost of that apple is going towards the purchase of apple seeds, the land on which the apple trees are grown, the fertilizer and water that helps the trees grow, and the salaries of those who pick the apples, clean them, box them, and send them to market.
Did anyone else start reading that and think he was talking about apple computers? Man, i need to get out more.

A lot of people may not know this, but the segway, in addition to being a means of transportation, is also a testbed for technologies used in Dean Kamans latest invention, the iBOT. Its a new wheelchair thats being tested by the FDA, but most of its technology has been proven in the non medical(meaning it didnt have to be tested by the FDA) Segway HT. The iBOT is a revolutionary wheelchair with that can climb stairs and raise a person up to normal eye-level. link link link link
