    no, but anyone can go to a gun show and buy an assault rifle, which are banned in most (all?) states, and this is all legal, why can they do this, because the gun technically doesn't work, this guy at a gun show will have a booth full of assault rifles that are legal for anyone to buy because all the guns have some little spring taken out, and you know what the guy in the next booth is selling? little springs!!, i'm an american, and i dont think its a basic right to own guns, many people cant be trusted with guns, especially americans, most people just aren't smart/responsible/whatever enough to have something thats intended purpose is to very easily end a life... that was a rant, go aheahd and mod me down

    actually all atoms are roughly the same size, hydrogens nucleus has little pull on its electron so the shell is relatively far out from the nucleus, but a massive atom such as uranium has the shell, relatively, closer in, the charges in a stable atom may be equal, but the positive charge is all concentrated in the center and acts on the electrons individually, brining them closer in, but of course if u wanna get weird, all atoms are theoretically infinite (heisenberg)

    this was on the history chanel the other day, top 10 inventors of the 20th century or something, Farnsworth actually invented and patented the idea for a device that produces an appareantly moving picture by scanning lines fast enough, RCA muscled him out of business and eventuly turned out their devices after his patents expired or whatever

    this is really cool and all, but whats the point, if you really dont care at all about quality then this may be a quick option for converitng your collection, but if you still have vinyl you probabably care enough to plug your turntable into the audio in jack on you computer

    do what i did, download every episode of simpsons, south park, futurama, family guy, sealab 2021, justice leage, invader zim, mission hill, red dwarf, doctor who, the tick, undergrads... and the list goes on, i have over 300 some hours of downloaded tv shows on my 160gb drive, i put em all in winamp3 on shuffle, its like my own tv station, but without commercials or crappy shows *watches replies calling me a theif/pirate :D*

    maxtor allready makes 160 gig hard drives, ones sittign next to making noise as i write this, but with 8 gig platters shouldn;t they be able to fit twice as much into the same case? 320 gig drives and such, but do most people need this much storage on their machines, even for video editing, uncompresed avi *only* takes up about a gig a minute, i dotn think they make digital tapes that hold more than 60 minutes or so, i could probably use this though (download a few more complete telivison series), but i'm not an average user, most people dont need server sized amounts of storage, also massive drives aren't simple to install, it was a pain in the ass to configure the cntroler card for my 160gb drive, stupid 133 limit...

    Has anyone seen that new show on the Discovery channel, Depth Charge. Its kinda like robot wars, except its under water, i've seen one episode, it was pretty cool, its a little bit slower paced than battle bots, but there seem to be less restrictions on weapons, bots last night had plasma cutting torches and bang sticks and other cool things.

    USB is hardly cheap, cables can cost up to a $1 a foot, they're getting cheap though, my big problem with usb is the length limits, you can go a bit longer than the 5 meter recomendation, right now my video card outputs to my tv downstairs too, i'd like to put some input devices down there too, but usb just wont work @ those distances and its hard to find 60ft ps/2 extention

    is there any way? everyday i see the other kids in school getting dumber/ more ignorant, i see the news every night and the propaganda they spew, i see whats going on in the government and it makes me sick, i know its possible to have dual citizenship, but i was born here in the USA, can i renounce it and get Canadian Citizenship or something?

    we have a screen here in milwaukee kinda like that, the marcus ultrascreen, its a flat screen with the normal aslpect ratio, but its about 70 feet across, most movies look fine on it and it has a great sound system, big movies (pun intended) like starwars, spiderman, lotr are amazing on this, but unfortunately its ussually sold out in advance for the first week or so

    the real problem is that acid trip ending sequence would probably cause the same problems that one episode of pokemon did, seing as how the imax foramt encompases all of your vision, they allready warn about motion sickness, for things like this they'd need seizure disclamers

    do politicians think that this wont take all kinds of resouces, computer storage isn't infinite, i dont even want to venture a guess how much data passes over my 3mb cable line every day, to log all ym traffic for six months would probably take storage measured in terabytes, how can they force companies to spend proabbly upwards of hundreds of thousands of dollars, unless they plan on using cd-rs w/ lots of rebates or something...

    does anyone know how this CARP ruling affects individuals who host shoutcast streams?, i used to listen to low-fi shoutcast a lot before i got broadband and switched to videos, but i just went to the winamp site (3 is out!!) and they still have shoutcast listings

    in the official (comedy central incarnation) battlebots rules all the above mentioned things are prohibited, tazer/emp weapons would be awsum though, flame throwers would be a bad idea because *some* of the robots are gas powered, projectiles are prohibited so u cant strap an uzi on your bot, but you can have something that fires as long as its teathered to your bot, ie. a spear or somethng thats on a cable, and on comedy centrals battlebots at least the ring is surrounded by thick lexan panels, thats not plexi glass, its the stuff your indestructable nalgene waterbottles are made of
