"We do our utmost to provide the public with the best possible service, and to act professionally and courteously at all times."

I beg to disagree with you. Have you read the nonsense on that replacement web page?

"... were stolen from the artists" - nothing was stolen. The authors and publishers still have possession of their property. They were only deprived of profits they had not yet earned. That is not a proper thing to do, but it is also not stealing. Change the text to read "were being distributed without the owners' permission".

"As a result of ... young, emerging artists may have had their careers damaged. If you have ... you will have damaged the future of the music industry." - The publishers have done far more to ruin or hinder the careers of young emerging artists than any illegal downloaders could have caused. Aim your sites in the right direction please.

Most of the Internet community already understand this. You apparently do not or do not want to. Do your credibility a favor and reword that page.

As for being fat - it's none of anyone elses damned business what or how much I eat as long as I'm paying market price for it. I pay for my own health insurance too so take your "You're stealing from less privileged neighbor" mantra and shove it.

Certainly. Take a page from PHB 101. Start terminating sysadmins until the productivity of the systems users starts to drop. Of course, by then it's too late because the few sysadmins you have left will already be seriously overworked and looking for other employment, and the chances of re-hiring the trained and experienced people you let go are close to nil.

Somewhere down inside the quagmire that is AT&T's billing system, you'll probably still find an active tariff for leasing crank-style (think "Lassie") phones to customers. It has never been updated to intelligently handle more recent uses of their communications systems, and heaven forbid you should ever ask one of their people to explain a charge or how to lower the cost of your "service". That's one of several reasons I refuse to do business with them anymore.

They would be trying to destroy us even if we stood in the corner with our hands in our pockets, and they are doing this even to people who sympathize with them. As for the government spending money on R&D and production, every penny of your money the government spends on R&D and production ends up in the paychecks of the employees and shareholders associated with the companies that got the contracts.

Overthrow them by force of arms? We did that a couple hundred years ago and it worked well until the very intelligent and respectable gentlemen who created our nation stepped down and the Politicians took over. We seem to be lacking in intelligent and respectable gentlemen, or ladies, these days who would be willing to step in and clean house so a revolution would not produce a change. So we'll muddle along with what we have and try to work around it.
