Any team can add features, so long as their changes remain Free. The GPL only says "if your screwed up mentality requires permission to use code, then if you want to modify this program, you need to let others modify it also"
I've had the basic idea used for this for a while, but it's not really a few-person project (especially without graphics programmers). Anyone want to help?
It wouldn't necessarily need to be free of charge, either-- something like this can easily fund itself similar to Second Life does, charging for services (virtual land, etc hosted on the server)
If you want to get technical, this display is 4D and existing monitors are 3D.
Current monitors have 3 dimentions: width, height, and time
This thing has 4 dimentions: width, height, time, and depth
Nope... Apple hardware is generally high quality as opposed to what Dell or Gateway might put in a computer. Also, Apple systems are based on the PPC processor, which is significantly better than x86.
The only real reason to buy x86 is if you can't afford anything better.
Maybe the Slashdot editors recognise that people have natural rights to modify and share information. Once you know something, nobody has the right to tell you what you can or cannot do with it.
Just because it is illegal does not mean you should obey such unjust laws.
Indeed, an immoral killing is immoral, but apparently many people do not realise that today, which is why it seems necessary for me to say obvious things such as "murder of the unborn is immoral".
Self-defence would not be taking the life of someone, even if they die by your defence. Obviously, the goal is to protect your own right to life, not to take theirs.
By "nobody", I mean "no human being". The Creator has the right to take away what He has given, which is everything, including all aspects of life.
Why should it be their responsibility to dispose of your waste? Sure, they sold it to you, but after that it's yours. If you have a problem with trashing it, deal with it yourself.
Probably the lack of registers and altivec, or something along those lines. I'm not aware of anyone who knows what their talking about that claims x86 is a good design...
I am defining "murder" as killing of any creature that one does not have the right to kill. If the dictionary disagrees, that's not my problem. I've seen dictionaries that define "love" as lust, when the two are complete opposites.
"Murder" by definition is killing of any creature that one does not have the right to kill. Nobody has the right to take the life of another human being.
Claiming a mother killing her unborn child is acceptable is no different than claiming that I can acceptably kill someone visiting my apartment simply because they are here.
Just because some indians think cannibalism is acceptable does not make it so. People who support abortions are either against God or being deceive (either by themselves or others).
Humans have the ability to attempt to judge right and wrong for themselves (as result of the forbidden apple), but judging the same as God (Who is perfect) will reap much better consequences than judging and acting differently (which is why eating the apple was a bad idea).
"boxen" is the plural of a high-tech "box" just as "viruses" is the plural of a high-tech "virus".
Low-tech "box" becomes "boxes" and low-tech "virus" becomes "virii"

No, actually, he isn't wrong. The BSD license permits GPL-type usage, but the GPL does not permit BSD-type usage.
It's getting very close to the point where it's easier to rebel against and overthrow the existing government than it would be to change it...
He said rights. Copyright, despite its name, is unjust law, not a real right.
Your rights are *already* effected by unjust laws. You have been brainwashed into giving up your natural rights to modify and share information

http://sourceforge.net/projects/moo3d/ for the engine
http://sourceforge.net/projects/tasogare/ for the core/environment

Absolutely no effect on KDE/GNU/Linux running CVS Konqueror... A picture of some guy & a bike scaled up to a huge size...

Do you have a point? I'd more likely trust Slashdot than CNN...

PPC is well documented... don't need insider access to emulate the CPU.
Darwin is open source... don't need insider access to get hardware info.

If you pay for software, you should get a *warranty* which covers security holes in it. If you're not paying for a warranty, don't expect one.
too much flash crap
Abortion is murder, plain and simple.
If you actually read the website, you would see that there are plenty of reasons PP is just the KKK reorganised.
If a family has serious reasons to put off another child, the parents in the family should not be making the attempt to procreate. Simple as that.
