So you are saying the nut-job standing at the freeway ramp with a sign saying the end is near (or how about all gays are disease carriers or niggers should be hanged) is a noble cause if he is only spending his money on non essential stuff?
Also other MMO's have joined in on this. The last update for DDO (turbine) came as both HTTP, FTP and Bittorrent - they put out a torrent file instead of the weird blizzard way though.
Almost every time you make a connection you open a port in the router, theres nothing magical about that. Usually the port only stays open while the connection is being used for data transfer, in case of UDP traffic it stays open a bit longer since it can't detect when the transmission is over (this can be used for applications like Skype to open up a port for connections in an otherwise closed firewall/router).
Interesting, my desktop background on windows (XP default teletubbie thing) (and VS) is brighter colors whereas my background on Linux is very dark (night scene rendered from one of my projects) - and I do work with VIM in a black terminal, I'm gonna try putting on a white background in Linux and let it run to see how long I get and the same in Windows but with black desktop, 2.5 Watts makes a big difference.
My figures are from the same machine, so no production mishaps will affect any specifically. But after some consideration I think the difference between them is windows got better drivers for the GFX board and can thus put it in "slow" mode, while linux might be running at full speed gfx wise.
In my own experience running Ubuntu 7.04 gives me somewhere between 5,5 hours and 6 hours of battery time. Running windows XP usually gives me around 8 hours of battery time. I use both distributions for development, I code under MS VS (C++) in windows and use VIM under linux for development (also C++).
Gonna check out the new 7.10 and see if I can get nearer to what windows can give me.
The trailers are great, I'm going to buy the orange box and try it out. I usually only buy a game every other year or so (no I don't pirate, but most games don't have an appeal, I play CS (gun game mod) and DDO) but that trailer totally sold me for the TF2.
I can't help but think people using blur/twirl/distort is somewhat trying to get caught, I mean if I wanted to make sure no one was able to see my face I would cut the information out of the picture - mark it, delete - it goes black and there is no way back.
This is the age of the internet, recording it with a normal camcorder and throwing it on youtube, break etc. will get you a much wider audience and it will hit the people who needs to know.
Actually bittorent is much better for this in my opinion since 1. RIAA can't see what else you got, so its one file at the time (or album or whatever), and 2. its much harder to actually claim you have shared a whole song since its usually pieces of file you share.
Don't know about Sony, but Creative rocks when it comes to RMA. I bought a MP3 player back in 2002, it went bad about a year later, turned it in, creative send me a new one (newer model since the old one was EOL). Danish law says that the warranty gets extended as if it was a normal purchase, so I got me 2 years more warranty on that, then the new one broke about 1 1/2 years later, again no questions asked they send me a new (and again improved) model. The next one lived through the two years warranty and is currently shelfed because I got me a phone with built in mp3.
Now one might think they make a bad product when they die like that, but it was mainly due to handling (the jack stick loses connection).
Here in Denmark Apple has been involved in a very long legal battle over the iBooks which they in the end lost, but as far as I know still don't honor their obligations, customers still have to fight them.
I for one can't fathom why people buy Apple gear, they hardly ever want to honor their warranty if they can get away from it, when you use their stuff you are usually locked in. Battery replacement is nothing you can do yourself and Apple thinks its outside warranty, even if the battery fails within first year.
I for one won't buy an Apple product until they get down from their high horse and treat their customers with respect.
Reset - Makin me feel, Dreamgate - fly like oxygene, Ronny V feat. Nandy - what if. They are not listed anywhere that I know of, been searching high and low for them. They get played quite often on di.fm eurodance, but they aren't for sale for some odd reason.
Actually no, I'm not kidding, I've been searching high and low for some releases from 2001 and they are impossible to get - I have even scouted around on less legal sites (ie torrents) and nothing. To be honest I have no idea why I got modded funny, I meant it.
Try finding "Dreamgate - Fly like oxygene" or "Reset - Makin' me feel" (neither are featured on the link, but thanks for trying).
I have been looking at all the stores and they fail with most of the music I want, but then again so does the walk-in stores, even allofmp3 doesn't carry the stuff I'm looking for.
(Norwegian eurodance circa 1995-2005 is impossible to get)
Most of the IT jobs I have had have had the same agreement, as long as I show up for important meetings they really don't care when I meet, if the job gets done I could work by night for all they care.
Uhm, could you perhaps provide me with something more authoritative than Websters then?
And tang as in seaweed makes perfect sense in that sentence, as does other meanings of the word tang, so as I already said twice, it was a correct translation.
Tang is a seaweed in both Deutsch and English, it did get translated both ways. My point was that since there is no way of deducting that he meant one of the other meanings of tang in English from just one line the translation was technically correct both ways.
The trick is to stop before you hit REM, I think most people should limit the nap to 15 minutes to gain maximum from the rest. Set a clock and powernap.
I get Seaweed as explanation for 'tang' when I look it up in dict (webster), it seems to me the machine actually hit your phrase quite right both ways. Deutsch is notoriously hard to translate because they got a messed up sentence construction - so the fact that the machine got it right both ways is pretty amazing to me.
Now the tang meaning you had was obviously something else, but from one sentence it's impossible for a machine or in fact a human to figure out which it is. (Since I haven't seen the word "tang" before and if I would only have looked it up in Websters I would have ended up with the same translation as google).
Ebola is a bad choice as agent since it has a habit of killing its host before it gets a chance to spread (which is why Ebola is usually limited to the Congo). You would be much better off with a strain of the Spanish flu circa 1914.

This is often because its the lowest bidder who bags the contract.
And while he is at it, he should also work out a fast way of doing the traveling salesman.
True, but its still a bit harder and with the screenshot method RIAA is using I think it is a bit out of their league.
:)
Also clients such as Azureus supports TOR
Why would you need balls to do that?

Valve did the same back in the days with Counter-strike, I think they removed it because it turned out spying on the users wasn't legal.
