I can only imagine the various types of malware that are going to show up for mining that cryptocurrency.

  6. Actually, this is a great idea: NASA should start accepting Bitcoin for visits to the ISS! Not only will it be a great revenue stream for NASA, but it will help the IRS figure out who's been neglecting to put a few million dollars worth of crypto mining profits on their 1040 forms.

And, hey... if the Winklevoss twins ever show up, maybe Mark Zuckerberg will pay NASA extra to stage an unfortunate airlock depressurization "accident" for them.

I wonder what the maximum amount of Bitcoin BitPay currently accepts... it might need to be tweaked a bit.

In my area, we have Comcast for cable (eww), Frontier for VDSL (that tops out at 24 MB/sec, and doesn't even qualify as broadband given the current FCC rules), or some sort of overpriced satellite or cellular connection with an insanely low data cap. Frontier is near bankruptcy, and hasn't attempted to improve their network in our area (coastal Connecticut) since they bought it from at&t a few years ago.

So, basically the choices in my area are Comcast or shit. You know that they're bad when Comcast comes out as the only good option.

I'm still wondering when the municipal gigabit broadband connections are coming. The state promised investments in this a few years ago, but nothing ever came of it. It seems that Google Fiber is vaporware as well.

  14. In defense of Apple, they did show a warning in the battery settings screen when they noticed that the battery capacity was diminished and that you might "experience issues" (I don't remember the exact wording) until the battery is replaced. I saw it on my iPhone 6 when the battery went bad on it.

They didn't say that they were going to throttle the device to keep the device from crashing, though, or give you a way of turning that feature off. I think that's why everyone is so pissed off about this.
