I have 1 GB of RAM, my Ubuntu never swaps. I guess I do not use that much memory (although I develop software in Java...) under windows I discovered it keeps using my swap file. Thats why I currently use the following rule of thumb: Linux: 25% of memory as swap space, Windows: 100% of memory as STATIC (min and max the same size) swap file. But that's just how I use my OSsses. I game under Windows and I develop software, surf and read my mail under Linux.

We do not want to see the ad, let alone click on it and certainly not willing to buy some crappy product we have no use for. This will only ensure that dumb people will pay for the ads. Dumb people that use browsers that do not have any option to block ads. The list of dumb users is large; hence profit! But the list is slowly getting smaller as people get smarter. Every (modern) kid is growing up with computers nowadays.

Why is it that open source projects have the most dumb names? Why is it that most open source projects are acronyms? I also found it typical that a lot of them refer to the name of the author. Looking at it this way: PostgreSQL name is not that bad. It's not an acronym (not completly), it does not contain the name of the author and it does not sound weird (not to my ears).

And then again: it's a name! All I want is a good database, and it is.

I recently bought a external hard disc. I plugged it into my computer and copied a lot of stuff on it.
