There is a very simple way to shut them down and just be done with it. Any congressperson can tack an amendment onto any of the many bills that float around the congressional floor. An amendment can be very specific, e.g., "Due to rampant unethical behavior by SCO, suit will not continue." or some such. It's legal and it's constitutional. Has anyone thought about asking their local legislator to do this?
It's too bad it doesn't have an SD slot in it as that way it wouldn't be limited to 128megs. With an SD slot I could stick a 1gig (coming out in a few months) SD card with Knoppix on it in there and on many new PCs (USB2.0) boot from the watch ready to go with networking, KDE and the whole shebang.
I got into the first page just before it got hammered so I can see what it is. All I can say is that this is more than a "I want one" situation. I am going to get one and I don't care how much it costs.
It's worth waiting 'till their server calms down to have a look folks.
You naysayers, skeptics, nerds, virgins, stupid geeks all of you.
Have any of you ever actually *tried* any of the offers you get in your inbox?
I'm not as stupid as all of you. I have taken advantage of every fantastic offer. My penis is now HUGE I can no longer leave my chair on account of my stupendous GIRTH and solid mass. A female friend came over the other day and saw my TREMENDOUS BULGE and ran away screaming in shock!
Ha Ha HA! Soon my penis will be so ENLARGED that I will rule the world !
Or we really wouldn't have many of the works written by the masters backthen. Mozart rewrote Handel, Beethoven rewrote Mozart, etc., etc., etc... and heck, most of them were often just orchestrating the pop music of the day anyway.
So if there were copyright laws back then, we would have had a huge mess of lawsuits at the time, and posterity (us) would have been left very little.
I wonder how much we are taking away from *our* posterity. When they look back on us to see what we gave them, what will it be?
Well they still havn't made it to my patenting and trademarking of EACH AND EVERY WORD of EACH AND EVERY LANGUAGE. I wish they'd hurry up so that pretty so I will be the
Every once in a while a troll needs a mod up for funny, and I think parent is one of them. Especially 'cause my Deutch isn't so good and I only get about half of it makes it even funnier!
Wow I'd love to see your mod stats when all the firefight dies down. I modded up, and when I refreshed it was modded down, and then I refreshed again and it was modded up again.
Sheesh. I just got some mod points and was getting ready to use them here but I have to post:
I have an Afrey DVD drive, 10X. On the back of it there is a little jumper. It is well known that if that jumper is shorted with the pin cover they provide, region coded is disabled. Shouldn't the employees, and the designers of the drive go to Jail? Are you reading this, Justice Department? You need to go over to Afrey headquarters right now and make some arrests.
And Radio Shack sells devices to "Enhance Picture Quality" of video when recording from one VCR to another. Everyone knows that those $40 boxes are used to circumvent copy protection on VHS video tapes put out by the major movie companies. Are you reading this DOJ? You need to go over to RadioS Shack right now and shut that illegal operation down. Here is their website, in case you didn't know it, so you can redirect it:
how big does a hard drive need to be? I mean, once everyone is doing their own digital video, PVR software, archiving their entire music library in MP3 format... you're only up to a couple-hundred GB
I don't even know why I'm bothering posting an answer to this question as the answer is probably very obvious to so many folks.
Every time a get a new generation hard drive that is an order of magnitude bigger than what I had before, I think to myself, "What in the world is going to fill this puppy up?" And the immediate answer in my own mind is always, "I don't know, but I already wish it was much bigger." And you know what? I'm always right. If 100TB drives were common right now, trust me, stuff would come along to fill it.
I have +-140gigs of storage at home right now, and it's full. I just ordered another 80gigs (which is the best value point right now) and when I was ordering it I was wishing that 200gigs was the best value point and I could afford two of them: one to fill, and one to back up with!
Every day I thank God I was smart enough to move away from California. Really. I am so much happier (!!!!) since I left 7 years ago. It was a loony bin then. I can't even imagine how much more f*cked it is now.
I LOVE not living there. I'm totally serious. I'm not trying to troll either, just expressing how I genuinely feel. If you live there now and have been thinking about escaping, just do it. It'll be hard for a year or so to start a new life, but so worth it you'll wish you had done it earlier.
The only thing that I regret is that I feel bad for my friends that are still stuck there.
Actually, I'd prefer that they be forced to open source their code instead. Have you looked into RiscOS? It fits into something like a 4meg (yes four megabyte) rom, boots in two seconds, and screams on any old piece of junk processor. I can only imagine how it would run on my AthlonXP. A tad faster than Mandrake no doubt.

Somebody let me know when this passes so I can get my pig poop unbrella ready.
Read Steven King's "The Mist" (a shortstory).
This is a bad idea.
Isn't posting the Microsoft (tm) EULA a blatent copyright violation?

I was tempted to call this an infinite loop, but I doubt a retailer would pay you to take their products
I take it you don't hang out over at FatWallet?
uh... I just found a price $2800 and up. Well, I still want one. darn

A serious question: If I booted up vanilla DOS on this thing, would it pretty much all run inside of cache?
That would be insanely fast.

I WANT icons. I just don't need the home and trash icons.
