    The rich shareholders don't "own" the company. They control the company. There are many other investors whose interests are ignored.

    According to the GPL:

    on what the Program does."

    So, not an EULA, a copyright license. Note the bold section (my emphasis) specifically says there are no use restrictions. Only copying.

    That is incorrect. The GPL puts no restrictions on use, ONLY on copying. Thus, it relies on copyright and not the (legally dubious IMO) EULA.

    That's complete and utter crap. Most of my friends have Android phones and I don't know of a single one of them that picked the phone based on manufacturers software customizations. In every case it has been about 1) the carrier and 2) the phone hardware. Big, bright screens sell smartphones. Touchwiz does not.

    but they do know how to have their heads filled with propaganda without so much as the mention of 'critical thinking' and vote against their own best interests.

    And this is not the worst of it. Not only are these people without the ability for critical thought, they are actively hostile towards those "elitists" who are capable of thinking rationally. I can't remember a time when anti-intellectualism has been so rampant in the political arena.

    Many website developers ignored Firefox when its percentage was that low. I often filed problem reports on the offending websites comment page, but they seldom acknowledged those.

    The best arguement I can come up with in the Console vs PC war is that the console is much more of a social gaming experience than the PC is.

    That describes my gaming experience now. If a game doesn't have a 2-4 player split screen mode, I don't bother. Console gaming is an excuse to hang out with friends, drink beer and eat pizza.

    You can download the Bing app from the Android market. The Google apps are not given away for free with Android. Phone manufacturers pay for them.

    Every so often, I try Bing out to see if it's worth switching to, but so far I prefer Google.

    That switch back was more due to a change in management than any real issues. FTFA:

    That move came despite the office being reassured in two separate appraisals carried out by consulting outfit McKinsey that Linux and open source software formed a perfectly adequate part of the German Foreign Office's IT strategy.

    In fact, the whole article seems to make the case that the switch back (to Windows XP!) was not a decision supported by the facts.

    The Easy Bake® oven depended on the fact that old incandescent bulbs are SO inefficient that the waste heat they generate can cook a small cake. I have no sympathy for those who whine about being forced to quit wasting so much energy when the fix is simply a minor inconvenience.

    Except the Fed does NOT dictate the type of bulb you use. Congress passed a bipartisan law to require that bulbs be more efficient. Any incandescent bulbs that meet the new efficiency guidelines are fine. G.E. promised a more efficient incandescent bulb but decided against it.

    This is less a PR stunt and more a confirmation that Bing was copying Google results for misspelled words as was made clear in the original article.

    The whole "sting" was set up after google engineers realized that Bing was returning search results for misspelled words that were identical to google results WITHOUT Bing correcting the spelling. The "sting" was just so that google could prove postively that the copying was occurring.
