You just expect people to walk out of a job and find another one the same day? Employers know how hard it is for people to find work now that they know their employees won't just leave like that. Also here in my state, employers aren't required to give ANY paid time leave at all if you're over 18. This means it's even harder to uproot you and your possible family and move to another state and hope to find a job.
This is what happens when corporate america has all the politicians in their pockets.
Pretty much my job. We have had people leave and move on and others laid off. We have never once hired people to replace them. The employer just expects everyone still here to pick up what the others did. If I take a vacation I'm 100% guaranteed to be contacted at some point about something while trying to relax. When I get back from vacation I spend so much time catching back up that I'm often working 10 hours a day for the first week.
Depends on the state. Here in Michigan for break times.
Michigan does not require employers to provide breaks, including lunch breaks, for workers eighteen (18) years old or older. An employer who chooses to provide a meal, lunch, or break period must complete relieve employees of their work duties for the break period to be unpaid.
When it comes to vacation leave
In Michigan, employers are not required to provide employees with vacation benefits, either paid or unpaid. If an employer chooses to provide such benefits, it must comply with the terms of its established policy or employment contract.
Same with sick leave:
Michigan law does not require employers to provide employees with sick leave benefits, either paid or unpaid. If an employer chooses to provide sick leave benefits, it must comply with the terms of its established policy or employment contract.
And just how long will that last? At some point programs won't work well if at all for Win7. How many people you see still running Win2k (or Win98) and say they have no problems?
Sounds like the app needs better optimization if you ask me. I got 3gigs in my Nexus 6P and it's pretty smooth with app switching for most things. I swap between Google Maps while navigating and Google Play Music all the time while driving and it's fine.
I would say it's a mix of all of the above. Not all cops are assholes and the public are angels. Each has it's share of bad apples. I've seen my fare share of videos where people antagonize police for a reaction.
...that crappy App that Facebook pulled out of their existing App and which I refuse to install because I shouldn't need a separate app or still another chat client.
In other news, when did people become so lazy that everyone uses chat because clicking on an email app is just too big a hassle?
I'm pretty sure you can use the FB messenger app without having a FB account now. They want you to use it as a standard SMS and phone callinging app. This is why it's a standalone app.
For your tech savvy person sure this can be done. I use to do it all the time. However go to your normal user and say this to them. They won't know what the hell you're talking about. Most people can't do this.. Most people shouldn't do this because they will do something wrong and brick the device.
Anyone able to modify their hosts file most likely has better means to block the app from doing things such as using Xposed. Also the fact that host names can change all the time, it could be a never ending battle. Also what if they use direct IPs? Back to using Xposed for that one.
I always see people saying this however I have never experienced it. I don't understand, are people that have it suck battery using it almost every hour of the day?
Just checked mine and both apps are using 475 megs of space. This is not counting cached data. Anything over that depends on what you send such as images and so on. Cached data depends on what the user does thus can't really place blame on the app.
FOX could probably be sued for issuing a false takedown notice.
I agree they should be but i highly doubt it will happen. FOX and many others know this and thus just throw these takedown notices out as fast as they can print them. Most people won't fight and their content stays offline. FOX then gets to take credit for the content.
I love when people like you feel the need to berate others for buying and using a device you personally hate or feel is a gimmick. Why do you care what others spend their money and time on?
I personally feel what he's using his for is 100% valid and if I had one would use it for the same things. I considered getting one but I just don't like Amazon and I'm neck deep in Google services (which I like) and the Echo does't work with them. I will be looking closely at the Google version and just might get it of not to expensive.
I'm thinking they will end up refunding or a class action suit will happen. It's the cops responsibility to know the laws they are writing out tickets for.
We all know how Microsoft doesn't follow industry standards now. The cars won't even follow the standard laws such as, they will drive on the opposite side of the road because Microsoft thinks it knows whats best.
Also the Nexus 5 already has 6.0.x. Others like the Galaxy s5 have 5.x. 6.0.x is said to be in development. s5 users might get it after Android N is released, assuming it hasn't been canceled by then.

There are still thing that won't run on any of these the I enjoy such as Overwatch.

I come to /. just to read the hate comments anymore. They give me a good laugh. I could care less about anything else.

It supports Project FI thus both CDMA and GSM bands. Also Verizon is selling this in their stores.
How much RAM do you want or expect in a phone? What do you use that needs more than 4gigs of RAM?

It's a good thing you can disable those.

Remember, Facebook owns Whatsapp.....

Which can't be done on most phones because they aren't rooted.
No it doesn't. I have all permissions for the app blocked and it works just fine. http://i.imgur.com/RcLJwsw.png

I use my hand-me-down $600 Nexus 6 phone as my alarm clock after getting a newer phone.

I would consider the service if they added Google Cast (Chromecast) support. I'm not buying another device to plug into my TV for a single service.
