The P-51 also shot down quite a few ME 262's because the tactics and maneuverability limitations made the ME 262's predictable.
The P-51 pilots learned to linger near the German airfields and shoot the ME262s down when they were trying to land, slow and low on gas.
The P-51 pilots quickly learned that the ME 262 had an incredibly long spool up time after take off and were easy pickings for a while after takeoff.
Jets were new technology and it was some time before they were able to develop engines that were responsive enough to throttle up quickly.
I can see the merit in this for removing a defective gene.
How long until people start hand picking the genes for the next super generation. The next super athlete, scientist, beauty queen...
Add in some DNA from neanderthal man and you can see what other interesting characters we could come up with for our entertainment..
Me too,
I found by the time it had got to version 12, it was so slow and buggy, particularly in the browser area that it made windows XP look good. The lack of menus was also a major issue for because I cannot remember the name of apps, particularly one that I have yet to use.
Congratulations to India for leading the world on a big step away from fossil fuels.
This is what all the world should be doing if we are going to reduce the effects of global warming and climate change.
If Microsoft's IE self destruct feature wasn't so goo, the percentage would probably be higher.
I have lost count of the people with Windows 7 where the IE browser is broken. Microsoft Fixit doesn't address the issue. There is no feature to un-install IE from the OS and re-installing the browser doesn't fix the issue. Gives the user reason to install Chrome or Firefox. The failure figure will go higher as the XM machines get retired and replaced with newer machines.
My experience:
I installed a number of systems back in 1989 with 100 Meg Seagate drives. Apart from replacing the servers and power supplies around them, they have been running non-stop, all of these drives are currently still running. I am now expecting these drives to last until my retirement and will complain bitterly to Seagate if they don't
None of the Maxtor drives didn't last longer than a few years where they all died from excessive bad sectors.
Western Digital had some failures but were replaced under warranty.
One of the staff bought a 10 Gig Fujitsu drive and it had a firmware time bomb in it that made it malfunction after a certain number of power cycles. Fujitsu refused any warranty and eventually (years later) released a firmware update that brought the drive back to life. For that reason I will never buy one of these drives.
Microsoft, who have been in the game the longest have been in the game so long should know how to deliver an interface that the people want. The have bought out the king of interfaces - Nokia!
It's causing massive problems (mostly around retirement homes) because the network is operating at around 270v in the middle of the day, in a suburb with lots of solar (should be about 240v)..
No it does not cause problems. In Australia, solar inverters shut off when the grid voltage reaches 250 Volts, it is what they are designed to do. The utilities sometimes jack up the grid voltage to shut down the solar inverters, that way they don't have to pay for the electricity they produce.

The other is where I can test new software and new peripherals.
I chose the Raspberry Pi for its low power consumption, 2 Watts from a Samsung phone charger.
I built up a number of servers in the late 80's and fitted them with Seagate 100 Meg drives, 4 in all. Apart from about 5 occasions where the equipment has been moved to different buildings or floors or the power supplies replaced, they have been running virtually non stop for 23 years. I have a few spares in my bottom draw to replace them with but I am starting to think they might just last through to retirement.
The driver has admitted to driving the car after an accident, ignoring all warnings until told that the car had a problem so big that it was going to stop ( on fire).
I would be interested in seeing the insurance companies response this this...
Nickel Cadmium batteries were the only ones that required full discharge to keep them healthy. Lithium Ion batteries deteriorate quicker if they are fully discharged.
A cheap computer not necessarily maketh a cheap satellite.
There is lots more than that; solar panels, batteries, regulators, rotation / positioning thrusters, antennas.
Then there is temperature management and the housing of the whole thing.
I guess the low power consumption leads to low weight which in turn leads to a cheaper launch cost.
I simply refuse to purchase any goods from the USA, not because I believe I will be purchasing an inferior product , quite the opposite. It is because I know they will use imperial threads / spanner sizes on their bolts and I *hate* the hassles this creates..
I am sure the rest of the world who are mostly on metric think the same. Imagine what could happen to the manufacturing industry if they began to use metric measurements?

Very true
This was my experience with the Y2K program. I looked at what was being done and commented that it wasn't addressing the whole issue. The response: "We need to look like we are being seen to be doing the right thing so we cannot be sued for negligence" rather than actually putting in a technically correct solution.

Looking at the flame out of the back of the craft it looks more like a raw fuel dump than something that will sent the spaceship into supersonic flight.
Nokia made big inroads into the cell-phone market because their products were easy to use.
Microsoft teamed up with Nokia with the view of entering the marked with a Microsoft powered device. This is the result.
Speaking to the people who own a Windows phone, they are very happy with it. People are familiar with Windows and Nokia's reputation for useability has probably paid dividends.
Not all of the users of cell-phones are the younger generation who easily adapt to a complicated device.

What the **** does a DNA sample have to do with the percentage of drunk drivers?!?!?!?
That is just the BS cover story
Just imagine the crimes that can be solved once they have the populations DNA on a database?
There will be arrests following the samples for unsolved crimes committed years ago

Protect pedestrians from bad drivers?
More like protect drivers from preoccupied, non observant pedestrians.
Let Darwinism run its course.
Maybe that is the problem
Do we perhaps have an opening here for Android for PC?

They should have just contracted out the building of the establishment to the Chinese in the first place.
Would have been cheaper!

9/10 A technical challenging project, despite the technical issue before launch he was able to control the aircraft all the way down. Well done!
