You need to get a life, man. Besides, Excellent Karma would get you 1 or 2 jobs that are missing on the PopSci list - Slashdot Moderator and Slashdot Meta Moderator. Since you seem to have plenty of spare time, add to this the third one - Slashdot Grammar Nazzi, that one's useful sometimes.
Sun may still be alive but I'll bet on above poster's 5 years. Perhaps the best description of the Sun's current state is given by Nicholas Petreley here.
I wasn't making a joke, I've asked a question. By definition, assault does not necessary mean physical attack only. Verbal assault comes to mind as one of legal categories. Perhaps there are others as well.
Now read my original question again - can their behaviour (as a company) be treated as an assault, then?
If you were able to provide meaningful answer to it, I wouldn't mind you answering the question even if not being asked. I asked the person who, by the looks of it, knows something about US laws. You clearly don't. So please, shut up.
Since you seem to know what you're talking about, I've got a question: can their behaviour (as a company) be treated as an assault, then? To me that seems the best description of Microsoft's business practices.
Not to mention assault on users by crapy software.
No, sir, you're not 'typical geek'. If you were you'd know how to find Tridge's CV online and realise how pathetic your CV is compared to it. Samba is just the tip of the berg. And he is only in his mid 30's.
My first reaction when I see Ballmer's name in a/. story is "Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhh, not again!" because I know I'm about to read the same, old bullshit all over again. Until recently, I hate to admit it, I thought the same about Cringley's column - boring and repetitive.
I don't remember when exactly but I figured how important Cringley may be due to his exposure to non-technical world and his persistence in fighting FUD. Perhaps I'm talking crap and this is not Cringley's intention at all but I really hope he will keep answering to Ballmers of this world every time they open their filthy mouth, in a manner that is easily understood by each reader.
Well, after you clarified it, I've got another question - assuming you're in US, can you sort out one green card - I've changed my mind:o). I mean, we're friends, right?
I work for a big company, supporting network, Linux and Windows servers. I also have few clients of my own, for which I handle small networks. I'm not Linus or Alan Cox but I know few things about Linux and am pretty comfortable with Windows boxes as well. My company and my clients seem pretty comfortable with having me to do what I do.
Would you hire me if I wanted to work for your company (which I really doubt)?
Nothing but the damn liar. That's what Ballmer is. However, there's not much left for them but lies. They know they're in trouble and they know exactly how many bilions of dollars are they going to be short in revenues over the next 2-5 years.
You may want to ask new California Governor this question. Takeover seems to have started - I'm sure A.S. will be able to clarify the issue for us all.

[And insert first GNAA post above all these]
Well, if you used Red Hat instead, your statement wouldn't need to include 'almost'. Ditto for SuSE 8.2.

Is that shirt from '85 or it got stained back then?
Thanks. I guess somebody would have thought of it already if that was the possibility.

Tridge is a genius. Humble one, too.
Don't know but your search for relivent will return zero results every time.

And I thank him for that.

No need for that, his problem is obvious. If he can't install Linux these days, he's dumbass and should not touch computers.

In other words, if he claims so, you would trust him?
True. Our jobs are nicer, though. I consider myself blessed - I get to make decent leaving doing what I love to do.
Oh, and look how quickly will Bill's fanboys mod this one to below 0.
Are you sure 'stand' is correct in this case?
Yes, because he's running windows.
Indeed.
We need to restrain spammers more effectively. Here is a possible cure. It may even work on Darl.
I haven't seen more incorrect statement for quite a while.
Did you get a cat?
