I actually feel they will have no choice but to let it grow. Just as they have no choice but to keep up with new worms every day.
I would expect them to just add the "helper" virus to their deffinitions. IMO I don't think even the most computer ignorant person would want to hear that his/her computer has been infected.
As long as they are still classified as virii or worms they will still be concidered malicious.
My college just recently put out some new rules regarding mp3's and avi files on the server. It basically came down to if they find it they will delete it. I believe they were planning on just running a script to search for mp3,avi,mpeg and other file formates and just delete them.
This poses one huge problem. What if the mp3 and avi files aren't copyrighted? My friend has a band and he places copies of his music and videos from concerts on the web. What 'bit' in the mp3's or avi's say that its a pirated? Or is this just another reason to build a firewall?

That is why linux is sitting here trying to play catch up in the Desktop world that we live in. While, as I feel, Windows is trying to play catch up in the server/security world.
Why doesn't SCO just say they invented the C language. That should cover everything they ever wanted.

Wait! SCO's a real company? Huh, I thought this was a April fools joke gone bad. Or maybe a setup for next April.
