In my experience python on Windows with WxWidgets works rather dreadfully. 100% CPU with large amounts of RAM required. Sometimes it had trouble with locking up. All of these issues may have been resolved as I haven't really checked, but they were never fixed in the apps I tried to use. The issues were also evident in a large number of users, so my setup was not to blame.

There are two problems with this post. The first being that is anonymous, which shows cowardice. Perhaps this is because a vital piece of information is incorrect? Microsoft had no real trouble putting Windows in AMD64, but getting all the driver venders to support it is taking a long time. For Linux where all the included drivers likely have source or are set to run in 32bit mode this is fine. However, would you want your drivers to drop back to 32bit? Probably not... Which is a likely reason why MS has not let Windows XP 64bit Edition loose.

Consoles are good for console games, but not every game is good on a console.

I just wanted to say that a game server and a game are completely unrelated when it comes to porting games. A game server is a very easy thing to have on multiple platforms, but a game is not. The other thing I wanted to point out is that the PS2 just doesn't have the RAM to make some games fun. If Halo had been on the PS2, then you'd need to stop and load alot and the textures would be horrific. Halo on XBox cached a bunch of stuff to the hard drive, because it was a standard piece of the machine. The hard drive on the PS2 is very limited in exposure comparitively.

One of the things I really hated was that they made you do platformer style jumps but you can't see where you're jumping. This makes every jump a leap of faith. Mario 64 was third person, so it can be easier to see where you are jumping to. 2D Metroid games allow you to do jumping puzzles because you see where they are. All in all, I think it would have been much better to have made a game that plays in 2D with 3D models and such.
