I agree with you! Looks like XForms would be a great way to create really intellegent, flexible, and possibly even componentized forms! HTML forms are stupid, IMHO. I don't know much about XForms, but it looks like a worthy replacement to HTML forms. Plus, it uses XML!
How is XForms supposed to replace QuickTime, RealPlayer, Flash, Shockwave, JAVA applets, VRML plugins...
Excuse my ignorance about XForms, but it doesn't look anything like ActiveX technology to me!
I don't see the advantage. Either it's a Sony technology (that only works on Sony products), or it's a Microsoft technology (that you can at least get on all PCs).
Awesome, I do the same. But I believe the problem lies in other, more "end" end-users not knowing how to access the automatic update features of windows.:p
IMHO, the registry is messy, not secure, and an old technology. Fortunatly, Microsoft will ditch the registry all together, in Longhorn, as I recall reading in a couple articles..NET, for one, doesn't require any registry editing at all! You can, however...
I think they're going in favour of something called manifests. Can't remember the details, but I believe it's an XML file that describes the program.
sure, let's just land a couple on the sun. Heh...Heheh.... Does 1 trillion cover the costs of making Mars enhabitable? Creating an ecosystem suitable for humans? I don't think I can live out my life in a building.:p
I like Debian. The only Linux distribution I stuck with. Hated Redhat and Mandrake (SuSE was shweet though, but I only have 200MHz). I expected the brand-spanking-new installer wouldn't be all that different. The Debian logo was a nice addition... But that's about it.
Windows 2000 installer is still easier.:)
Bob here used fdisk? I'm impressed. From my experience with "users," Bob would've asked his friend Ted to do it, since Ted's a 'puter technician, yep!
Now, after Ted did that there fdisk thing, I reckon Bob's just gonna go on n' install that Luh-eye-nux thingie.
The point is, once poor Bob saw the blue and grey screen, a paramedic would've been over there to help out the poor geezer with a cardiac arrest. He knew what partition means? Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle!
True. But, I use.NET myself, and it's much more than JAVA. The OO-only concept is from JAVA, and C# looks like JAVA, but there's a lot more you can do with.NET and C#. But, I'm no JAVA or.NET expert.
IMHO, Microsoft has shown a lot of innovation. Sure, they copied some basic ideas. Don't all browsers inherintly copy from Mosaic?:)

Is Windows Worth $45?

I disagree! I've herd many times that in order to stay in the game, you need to be innovative. And personally, Microsoft's shown tons of it over the last few years. Most of it, we take as a commodoty today. Remember Windows 3.1? It was more of a front-end for DOS. Now DOS died, and all that you get to use is the "front-end." How about.NET? I love the idea! The fact that it doesn't matter what code you use to get the job done. How about Microsoft Research? I see it as a great resource for what's to come, and some great source code can be found there. Just recently, they released the code for their Alligence game. Sure, nothing compared to what you can get at SourceFordge, but cool anyway. I believe the $45 is well spent! But that's comming from a MS fanboy.:p
I lived in the US, now I live in Europe. But I lived in Europe previously before the US part. However, I bought my PC in the USA, so it ran (by default) on 110V. I also upgraded the PS in the US.
I like Europian voltage much better. You don't just get a painful poke, you get flung across the room...
So, you have an infrared cam now (IR)?
That's pretty funny. A BSOD button... Could you drill a wee hold in the camera's cover, and make a fake button touching that area of the PCB? Might be a useful feature.
I have to agree with RoundSparrow. I own an HP Pavilion 420n. It crashed on me like nothing has ever before. It was a shit machine... A 2GHz shit machine. I bought a nice, new, large case with 3 fans and a 320 V power-supply. Never crashed on me again. I run Windows XP.
I've come to the conclusion it's crappy hardware that renders, otherwise good PCs, into something a wee better than cardboard boxes.
Any half-way decent government, I'm sure, will be much more interested in how secure the evironment is. Personally, I'd spend more money on a secure platform, then I would on a free, unstable platform.
Wether it's Microsoft, IBM, hell! It could be Apple. I'd just want to get to know them reeal good before doing anything like that with them.
I choked on my spit. :(

Completly unrelated to ActiveX, if you ask me.

Or the lemure?
Let me get this right, the ESA is creating an opium like drug to put people into hibernation on long space voyages.
And this drug work's successfully on ground squirrels.
Why not just send the squirrels into space, and skip humanity altogether?

This is the first neat comment I've seen here! Too bad it's off-topic. :(
Hah!! I knew it! Humans are nothing but a bunch of brain damaged monkeys!!!
Nobody can deny it!
In other words, "for religious reasons..."

I heartily agree with you, proc. Especially that C# 2.0 is going to be released... Soon (ahem).

On second thought Pinkey, let's try Venus...
If you see a white flash, kiss the guy next to you. Doesn't matter who he/she is. Because you won't get to see them again.
:/
I doubt wether this thing will work...

Hah! That's funny. I totally agree. Either way, incompitent users ruin whatever platform your using.

Legally, MIPI isn't doing anything wrong, right? I love how law is moral, no matter what it says!
