I live in a small country named Slovenija (Slovenia). Usually, every year we are subjected to tons of snow so that we are wadding knee-deep in it. For the last few years, there has hardly been any snow. It snowed a wee bit, and the tempertures are warm and sunny.
This is unusual, and combined with the news that the ice on both polar ice-caps is indeed melting very quickly, and these discoveries posted in the Space.com article, I find quite alarming. Even if it's still theoretical, I still find it frightening.
I don't pay for Linux stuff, mainly because I don't think it's worth it for me. I mean, there's no real benefit. Anything I can buy from SuSe for $5,000 I can get for free by downloading it.
Heck, get Debian, and apt-get all the software that comes with those SuSE purchases. OK, so some of it is actual retail software, but I still don't see any real benefit.
And besides, I really don't do all my work on my Linux machine. I have a lot of software that requires Windows. Music production/remixing software, photo editing, and a decent HTML editor, ect.
And I am trying to familurize myself with both platforms. I do.NET here, then Perl/PHP there, ect. I have MSSQL 2000, and MySQL 4. So, if it's cheaper for me to download, I'll download. But if I had the money to donate to something like Debian, I really would. I think it's a worthy cause. Besides, what they're doing is cool!
Let me guess, there's a buffer overflow issue in the way Internet Explorer renders clicks that allows malicious users to take control of my computer.
Yipee!
So we can install more nuclear facilities? I mean, why try and spend half a trillion on putting them in the ocean when you can spend three trillion putting them on Mars!
Want to know something else that's crazy? I submitted a question to the install.php news group. Well, not only did it send my question to the news group, but some German webhost, some porno site, and various other domains.
I have no idea what that was about. But every time i send off an e-mail to them, it sends my question, again to those sites. Now I'm getting spamed at my once wonderfully clean address.
Well, the last time I "checked" (not intentionally, really) it was some sort of website displaying people in positions handeling places that ought not to be handled in such unethical positions with quite disagreeable people, in the first place.
Oh, how grand. Great way to get rid of the bounty retrieved from the burning museums in Iraq.
I can see it now! Get the first human writings in in the Cave of Doom! But, you have to be at level 6 to get them.
Whoooooo!
Or, what if they have a holographic device to make a holographic device float in the air as a holograph emitting your keyboard as a holograph? Or, they could just make it wireless... Bah.
I bet the first editions of the device are AS BIG AS YOUR HEAD. They usually are anyways.
Oh God. Just imagin if you want to go to Google.com but instead land at Gooogle.com... Or pop-ups... Or better yet... Japanese Killer Seizure Robots floating floating in your face!

I really can't help you much because I've never delt with FreeBSD. Try going to JustLinux and asking there. You probably won't find help here.
I'll give my left pinky if you don't find help there.

LOL! Uuh...
That would be ironic. But, alas, the buttons are server-side. Disable JavaScript on your browser, and you still can't get through.
I like Notepad.
I'd do something useful with that kind of processing power. Like... Half-Life, or... Or... TuxRacer?
:(
I suck.
And I prefer potatoes over cabbage! How about you?
The price of eggs in China is dropping drasically. We now may all begin to vomit!
I absolutly just can't wait for the cricket test matches! OOoh, wow. Cricket! I mean, it's cricket!
No, you don't see, it's cricket for God's sake! CRICKET!
Sorry.
Just have granny haul that big pack around, then sell a special "spine replacement" when her's breaks. Grand!
Hang it all. The Linux kernel and anybody involved in it's development are offensive, and ought to be drug out and shot. Hmmph.
Microsoft Internet 2003 Service Pack 879.
Quite a few bugs in there.
Now they're going to take that job away from me?! Slashdot won't start out-sourcing anytime soon, will they?
The end is neigh...
I won't touch it unless I can tar zxvf it or use bzip2. Pththth!!
We need more jobs in order to keep the jobless programmers from getting bored out of their skulls and creating worms.
And, we need to start making homework more interesting. I mean, really interesting. Totally, undeniably fascinating at that.
Well, it's a start. Any ideas on the latter? Because I'm absolutly clueless.
