I was in the US recently and I purchased a Calvin Klein suit for $250 @ macys. Went to the Calvin Klein store in melbourne aus and sure enough it was $1000 for the exact same suit. Why is there such a huge difference?
i'd say the identity management offerings from Novell are what Microsoft are after. Novell's idam system is superior to pretty much anything bar TIM/TAM or OIM/OAM.

Neither would this have happened if the maintenance tech had followed procedure and just switched the damned thing off. I don't see how this is any different from a normal industrial accident with something like a sheet metal press.
Exactly...its not as if we have these laws for cars or trains...plenty of people step infront of them and squisho...human kebab! Besides, those "robots" arent aware of anything...its just a controller which follows a set pattern attached to the controls which manage movement of the arm/hydraulics.
Note that RIS is not a very good solution. Even if you have uniform hardware, (Like Dell's, or HP/Compaq's) changing one driver can muck up the whole process. Not so with unattended. Being an Open Source project, you are im complete control of your build process.
That sounds like a bit of fanboy fud. What problems are you exactly having? We are faced with that same "problem" as well and we have no such issues inserting drivers. I am happy to help if you can explain the problem you are having.
The thing with ris is that if you put in a lot of effort and time, you can make it do anything you want (and it pays off when you have multiple desktop platforms). I used to come from the ghost/acronis school of thought however after "seeing the light", RIS (and the new up and coming WIM solution - think of it as a combo b/w ris and ghost) is much better.
Attn Gen Phillip Ruddock is the primary cause of this push. There was an article a while back in which Mr Ruddock was quoted as saying that the current laws were pointless. Strangely enough I think he got his lightbulb on his head from the fact that his kids/grandkids had ipods and they werent "legally" allowed to copy music onto them at the time - no itunes...or so the story goes.
The group of gifted children (8 to 12 year olds) that I was teaching up until last year were programming mindstorm creations!
Strangely enough there are a heap of kids out there that are still interested in engineering, science and mathematics. The school that I involved with did things from creating their own tv shows, mechanical marvels (robots, planes, powered carts), electronic music creations and brilliant artworks created using computers and digital camera's.
Heck I even got the kids to beta test an interface I cobbled up similar to a work related project i was working on! They give an interesting perspective on how things should "be". The time I spent working with those kids was indeed enlightening and fun. Its amazing how many basic things us "adults" miss because we tend to think from a more holistic point of view.

Hold on...the only reason why 3g phone systems are being picked up is because of the rates being offered by 1 company alone. If it was up to our national carrier and our no 2 carrier, prices would be ridicously high. In Australia, the govt hasnt had the balls and or the intelligence to see that there is obvious pricefixing between the top 3 mobile phone carriers. Its only through hutchison's actions where marginally better pricing schemes and call rates have been introduced.
Now as for wireless internet, i realistically only know of 1 company in australia that offers REASONABLE pricing on wireless services (but unfortunately they are fixed position setups utilising 802.11 and a CPE).
The rest dont have really good pricing in terms of data usage compared to other countries.

dont like it...go work somewhere else...there are reasons for limits so that idots like yourself dont fuck up the SOE's and we have to spend time reimaging the damn thing and wasting 20-30 minutes. Now have a shitload of these machines 200+ and then you get all sorts of problems if we dont lock em down. Allowing instant messaging, media etc....well are you suppose to be working or talking to your buddies? Do you have an inheret need to watch video's or stream music when it costs the company money and bandwidth which may be dedicated to other things such as terminal services or VOIP?
Its tards like you that make the job harder. Rules are there to keep the peace and not meant to be broken. If your company says no smoking inside of buildings and you say otherwise they will tell you to get fucked. Same applies here.
