Does anyone know of the record for longest running Sim['City', 'Earth', 'Life', 's'] game? I'd be curious to see if someone's done this for years or anything crazy like that.
well, standard also employed some 'other' tactics, like using abe simpson and his gang to go down and 'influence' other corporations...this supposedly occured after rockefeller was no longer managing day to day, but was still another way that they drove competitors out.
Windows requires an IBM PC or compatible, at least 256K of memory, disk drives, and a graphics display. More memory, a hard disk, and a mouse are optional. Windows is at its best, however, with as much memory as you can give it, a hard disk or, at the very least, a large RAM disk, and a mouse.
good to see they stuck with their original design principles.
What the hell is going on in the Times? Are they running company press releases now? I expect them to have horrid inaccuracies in their stories, but I don't expect poorly veiled ads. Idiots.
this show's up in greg egan's permutation city (too lazy to link). it becomes a metered service and a commodity, so when the big boys (i.e. governments or consortiums thereof) need time, they just bid it up. kinda interesting idea.
for those of us unable to grab the premiere, but interested in possibly watching going forward. thanks
am i the only person that thinks we could generate fps levels using this technique? yes? well okay then.
there's nothing like a discussion of scifi on slashdot to demonstrate our collective inability to grasp basic spelling and grammar.
and yes, i know i'm not using caps. bite me.

Isn't that what happened in the thirteenth floor?

and usa today wasn't supposed to be profitable for several years longer than that.
mmmmmm.....buttered cat toast.

Keep in mind the only true equality on slashdot:
michael = asshat
i'm happy to see that my campaign is now rubbing off on the mighty one himself.
If I know that a disc will go blank, I'm going to just copy it to something that won't destroy itself (at least in the next few years).
so i assume you're not going to copy it to an ibm or fujitsu harddrive, right?

I think he was kidding, and I definitely don't think he's suing anything, especially as a modem.
stop editorializing, asshat. especially when what you say HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ARTICLE. jesus farking christ.
adobe actually has an embedded-xml-like thing going on with xmp. support is native across the product line now, i believe.
well, that's probably because real journalists actually edit things before they report them.
AOL is technically an acronym, so i think you meant 'five words.'
oh, i'm such a bitch.
well, not a very good joke. ;)
yeah, really. i had a tricked out pcjr- dual floppies, 640k. i was the pudachris of the neighborhood.
