I submitted a story last evening regarding this which also included that the Chairman was also looking to take control of Cable/Satellite TV content. Of course the story was rejected:)
In any case I can't find the exact article yesterday, but this one contains what I was worried about. The quote that really got be bothered was
"You can always turn the television off and of course block the channels
you don't want," he said, "but why should you have to?"
The slashdot community I would think would be more interested in this then "al a carte" pricing.
What are you smoking? Sun has been rebranding STK stuff for 10 years. I can't think of an array Sun currently sells, or for that matter has sold in the last 5 years that hasn't had dual power supplies and not had two cords. Usually the problem is people not plugging in the second cord.
Part of that comment is pure flaimbait.
I wonder if the family had tried to reset his password. I just tried with my yahoo account. It asked me for my birthdate, zip code, and what country I was in, and the yahoo ID. Then I clicked next. Then it asked me a question, which I gave the matching answer to, and it reset my password.
Has the family not tried just going through this process?
Why is it so hard for people to understand that just because you earn a salary doesn't mean you're not entitled to overtime. Under the previous rules and the new ones, a certain salary is PART of the requirements. You have to meet ALL the requirements before an employer can deny you overtime. It's a if you make this much AND you do this job AND this, then the employer does not have to pay you overtime. But if you make this much AND NOT this AND that, then you are entitled to overtime.
This is something that has been taken advantage, employers brainwashing their employees to believe just because you earn a fixed salary you aren't entitled to overtime. So keep track of your hours, and if they fire you, sue for your overtime.
That I know of is at Weirs Beach at FunSpot You name a game, they have it there most likely. From old school Asteroids to new games that you actually have to move your body to play. Anytime I go there it's a blast!
I work for Sun also, but I don't use the crappy Ultra 5 they sat on my desk. I also have a Sparc 5 to the right of me that I don't use. Instead I bring in my Apple G4 laptop each day. I find I'm more productive with using my G4 then using the Sun Desktops.
I've been curious how it's going to work with all these open wireless networks hanging around. if someone uses your wireless networks, unbeknown to you, and the RIAA comes after you for copyright infringement, can they hold you legally responsible? Since copyright infringment isn't a criminal offence, and from what I know, there is no law requiring me to secure my wireless network, how can I be held responsible for what some stranger did?
I'm curious as to how this and Nextel phones are seen by laws such as the ones in NYC. Since there are provisions in the law that continue for the use of CB radios without hand free devices, shouldn't these be allowed to be used without handfree devices in cars when you're using the PTT feature? I know they don't transmit over the CB frequencies and that's why State Laws can't overpower federal regulations. But if I got a ticket for using my PTT phone in New York without handsfree, I would think I would have a good fight in court
Definately not the same. You can reset the battery age if you want to without replacing the battery.
on A1000/A3x000 run '/usr/lib/osa/bin/raidutil -c -R'
T3/T3+ telnet into T3 and run '.bat -n u(x)pcu(y)'
Yes that's a period in front of bat and replace x and y.
I'm so surprised by all the people who can make a well informed opinion on the movie by a 3 minute clip. I tend to find the CG stuff looks better when it's bigger then a postcard. Let's hold off judegment until you actually see the movie on the big screen.
From what I have experienced on online chatting, it seems girls use the shorthand more often then boys do? Has anyone else noticed this? Also the articles seems to chat with girls more on the subject then guys....which seems to support my observations
I really thought I would read about more people here into collecting their childhood memories. I'm still a big kid at heart, and Transformers is the only one I actively collect nowadays. I got back into the whole scene when Beast Machines was out, but I still have all my Generation One toys from when I was a physical kid:) I pretty much have the whole line of Beast Machines and Robots in Disguise (I can't believe someone said RiD is small, I guess he didn't see Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus). Beyond Transformers I still have my GI Joe, He-Man, MASK, Centurions, and Star Wars toys from the 70's and 80's. Someday I'll have my "Toy Room" put together with all displayed. I really think it's pretty important to keep the kid in you.
Can't slashdot keep up with the news? I mean this happened last week.

when he said Frankenfood. That's such a scare tatic move. Like Bush invoking 9/11 all the time.

I'm under 35 and I work at Sun. I have been there for over 3 years now. In another 3 years I'll still be under 35, can't say I'll be at Sun though :)

If you mean crazy by Cingular, then you're right. The S55 phone is $79.99 USD after rebates from Cingular or $129 USD from ATT Wireless.
Oh come on. Why do you need a CD when you can just download it also? http://wwws.sun.com/software/star/gnome/

And about 50% of those posts we're bashing Microsoft. So it's kind of a slashdot friendly place
I'm confused. What was that credit at the end of FInding Nemo that said "Rendered on Sun Microsystems"?
