    No wonder he got fired!

United Parcel Service. It was kind of a shock at first. "out of spare parts"..

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp'Yeah Bob, I just happened to have a couple hundred large moving vans, some tracking gear, and a few spare employees out in the back yard, so I decided to start my own parcel service! Now if I could just find some boxes...'

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspAlthough the real article is kinda cool, its didn't hold a candle to my origional expectations. Foiled again...

The site is /.ed right now, but I'd like to know what hes doing for safety systems. Will he have other people check over his work, calculations, manufacturing etc?
I would think NASA would be happy to lend a hand in that department, because if this goes wrong it could mean some seriously bad PR for any space related agencies. But there is great potential to reignite (no pun intended, really) interest in space, if common people can make it to space. I wish this guy the best of luck..

  6. Im not worried on Bio-Weapons That Eat Ammunition and Fuel · · Score: 1

If bugs like this DO get into the wild, the oil and ammunition will develop a natural imminity to them. Seriously though, usually these bugs arent made to reproduce, they just process the materials and die after a point. But the danger comes from mutations, when they might infect an unintended target. Will the military ever learn?

  7. Re:Overclocking cost? on Extreme Cooling · · Score: 2, Insightful

Dont underestimate overclockers fanaticism for these things. And there are ALWAYS higher numbers that arent on sale. 3GHZ chips out? they want to be the first to overclock to 4GHZ. and some people have money to burn (or cool), but hey its helping the economy right? Im with you on the gig of ram thing.. *drools* but what do you use to cool your overclocked gig of ram? ;)

  8. Re:Small set feature failure on Google Experiments · · Score: 1

I think the issue you are talking about was that they arent talking about results exactly. Its that you dont EXPECT that this set has very many items (15 or less) and that changes how the search works. for example if you wanted to know about all the doom games its a small set. But if you were looking for info on first person shooters thats a larger set. It doesnt mean that the small set WILL return few links (although likely) but it searches in a different way. At least thats how I saw it.

  9. Re:This number is meaningless on Spidey Knocks Out Harry Potter at Box Office · · Score: 1
Well no, its not quite meaningless:
"Never before in Hollywood history has a movie grossed over $100 million in its first three days, not even when taking ticket price inflation into account."
from: http://boxofficemojo.com/articles/news/?id=020505b or.htm (the spidey news story on the top of the weeked sales numbers page)

I do agree that they should acount for inflation in all time lists, but the linked list is mostly recent titles.
