What i would like to have is for those spam sites to stop being linked in google. Search for something like "free motorola ringtones" to see what i mean
But Debian's Michlmayr also noted that governments and schools are sweet spots for the project's momentum in 2004. Its next release, code named Sarge, is expected by summer and will include the 2.6 kernel,
Is Debian really going to release an stable distro with 2.6 that soon?
It doesn't sound like Debian at all, since they released woody with kernel 2.2 as default instead of 2.4
...and don't see an incentive of using Linux. Most of my linux apps have been ported to osx , some with cocoa gui and the works, like xchat, wget, etc.
And there isn't an nvidia driver for linux/ppc.
So really, why use Linux here? I even have fink if i need some gnu/linux stuff.
I wouldn't even know how to install linux here, because i would need to repartition and don't want to lose data.
That's easy to answer. Python. Java is too low level for RAD, and quite possibly won't be Free Software in the predictable future.
You don't think that having VB for all these years, working on a platform with lots of users, having an easy to use IDE and being pushed by Microsoft had nothing to do with its popularity?

Too bad we are actually slashdotting ESR not Sun, lol
RISC processor and all, you can't compare a 1.33ghz ppc chip with a 3.4 intel monster. I would like to see your frame rates compared to that one, i bet you get less than half.
On Macworld, they said they had about 70% of the market.
Not it's 56%.
I guess it only can go lower now
It was reported late last year that the ATO was originally considering Longhorn as its preferred SOE
What? How can they even consider an OS that won't be released for about 2 years?

Nobody would ever need that many searching.

It is. We are living that same type of goverment in Venezuela.
A communist elected by the people is a democratically elected communist goverment.
...and it would still have just one button for starting all rides
Sad thing is, that slackware users are really a small number. Most have went to debian or gentoo.
Slackware needs more marketing and repository of packages.
Irony is, it needs more users so it can get more users

Anyone knows how to disable html completely in Mail?
Going to preferences, viewing, and unchecking the "display images and embedded objects" doesn't work properly.
I find Mail very incomplete, but it has a plugin for easy viewing hotmail mail. Anyone know something similar for thunderbird?
I am planning to buy an old mac (mostly because I like its colour)
I suggest you get your priorities straight before buying a computer just for the color.
Having said that, yellow dog is the best distro for mac.
On desktop machines, it's equally as functional. Plus, it's always cool to see the pulsating (snoring) "sleep" light
Is there any way to disable this? I like it, but it eats the battery a little.

Also, unless you back up/sync your Zaurus religiously, when the battery power is gone, so is all your data, programs, etc.
RTFA. It uses non-volative memory so your apps stay when the power drains.
It's just like a politician voting for himself.

Out of interest, would you name some better IDEs..?
Anything with the Borland name before it. Just compare Visual C++ with Builder
Guess what? Ubiquity+control=monopoly
I read it before posting, do you really think being able to just draw buttons means all awt/swing apps will work?
I know you don't, and i know you are just happy because of swing work has already started.
The question is, how long until a useful swing app can be developed with gcj?
As long as awt and swing are missing, gcj's is still in diapers.

... and the slashdotting remains.
Some things never change
