I got a PC with an Athlon 1700+, 20 GB HD, and 128 MB or RAM for $250, and about $30 of that was shipping. You can even upgrade to a real video card(integrated shared vram by default) cheaper than the $336 they estimate.
Many people are trying what you want to do. The first thing you should do is register a project at Sourceforge. Then go around message boards and get game programers to join your project. While all the similar projects are in the planning stage and a 0% activity, I'm sure they'll take off an time now.
I have about 2.3 GB worth of MP3s and that's just 530 files. Although I don't have anything less than 128 kbps, and most are 192. Also most of my songs are about 6-7 minutes lond not the latest 3 1/2 minute brittney spears songs.
To the moderators: I forgot one little piece at the end of the post that might change the meaning;:-) Sorry about that. So when reading my first post please mentally attach the smily face, it's a joke.
Some people who use a PDA a lot, but don't play games enough to justify buying a GBA might play games on their PDA. The same goes for people who play their GBA a lot, but don't need a PDA enough to buy one, but might need that functionality occasionly.

I wish they would make a Star Trek MMORPG. They could set it in the TNG timeline so it doesn't step on future storylines in movies and series.
You whore! Well karma whore at least. I don't think LinuxWorld will get Slashdotted.
Yeah, Nintendo hasn't really ever had huge game libraries for their consoles, but they don't usually have a lot of crappy games either.
Well I don't think this project is trying to push a tightly controlled hardware platform to get better security.
That may have been modded as funny, but that's basically what they want to get at.
Shut up, I missed it the first time!
I think you missed the point of the parent. Who needs a story line?
It's a fake. It isn't that hard to lie about your registration data.
Okay elegant wasn't the right word
I have to agree, Solaris(on SPARC hardware at least) is much more mature and elegant than Linux.

A new release of SCO Linux. I know Linux fans every where have been looking forward to this.
Now when you see a flshing red banner, it won't mean that you have won something, it just means a terrorist attack is immenant.
I think NASA used these x86 macs to do the video editing when they faked the moon landings.
I then moved to a PC and dual booted between RH5/6/7/8 and Win 95/98/NT/2000
Wow that's a lot of operating systems on one computer.

Why not just let them loose on Google? They can't get into anything bad from there.
But the point of the artilce seems to be smaller hard drives with as much space and that's just not so. I'm well aware of the iPod.
1.5 GB? That's not enough for my legally ripped MP3s, much less what I get from giFT.

I'm sure this won't just be for games. It might even turn out to be possible to add cheap PDA functionality to a GBA too.
A good Reality TV show? Now theres an oxymoron if I ever heard one.
