Sharing between computers on the network is fast. As far as kazaa and similar things go, they blocked those bck when the RIAA was complaining to all the universities.
Here on the UAH campus network, They say it's broadband, but we get the speed and relability of dial up. I guess they think if you get a static IP and connect though an ethernet jack it's broadband.
Yeah, despite the best efforts of the Slashdot bigwigs, some trolls still ge modderator access(ie. modding perfectly good comments as trolls or flamebait)
When the Opteron was first annouced I considered selling custom built servers and workstations running Linux as a way ay to may a little extra money. So obviously they are just following my lead.
Your argument is a rather absurd troll. Terra Soft wasn't planning on making Mac clones, they were going to use their own OS, Yellow Dog Linux. Apple stopping Terra Soft from making a PowerPC computer(based on an open motherboard design no less) is like HP stopping Dell from making Intel based systems with their own motherboard design.
Could this be the begining of the end for SPARC? Will Sun start to adopt a strategy that HP/Compaq has with Itanium and Alpha, and just keep SPARC around for current users.
Three
Great this after I just changed my major away from computer engineering.
My exeriances on older G3 or higher macs has been that OS X will run okay if you feed it a lot of RAM.
Well its about damn time! :)
As an antispam measure I've blocked AOL, hotmail and Yahoo for a while(except for people who I already know).
At least we won't have to worry about copy protected cds that kill iMacs. Also, I though Apple could never be arecord company.

It was a joke
I've got 8 gigs of RAM in my old 286 running a hacked version of FreeDOS, so this isn't really news
Crap, now all my windows are covered with bricks.

Linux/AMD systems may give lower profit margins, but small profits are better than none.
HP sess Dell as a threat since they also make Wintel boxes. That's called bussiness.

It's a z23 (z33), the z22 and z32 are listed as supported.
The desktop version won't come out until September, the Opteron is mainly for servers and workstations.
I bought a Lexmark for $40 at Walmart, and it's a peice of crap. To make it worse the drivers for Linux don't work with CUPS(thus not Mandrake 9.1)
Actually read the posts? I guess you're new around here.
I don't know if Solaris wants to be Microsoft but, Sun might.

At first I thought this was a story about some sort of handheld light that can run Samba, but it's just Slashback. Too bad.
The poster forgot to link to the leaked key. A fix would be appreciated.
I was going to say Warcraft 3, but then I saw that part about old slower machines, so Warcraft 2, and maybe C&C Red Alert.
