    That's my single biggest point-of-entry problem for worms and viruses; people take their notebooks home or on the road and come back infected and reconnect inside the firewall.

    well this has already been said, but here's a sugestion with out the flame/abuse, have a other firewall etc, between your core network and the mobile users, don't let them connect to the inner network. same with anything else not trusted.

    I don't see anyone here bitching about Java, even though it's also a similar, proprietary technology controlled by one party -- Sun. Hell, I would say that Linux is more of a threat to Sun than Microsoft. So why isn't Java a threat to Linux?

    Well I'll fix that for you as far as I'm concerned Java is crap, just like .Shite, .But ... ag shit, but seriously it is Shite, yeah, theres all those proprietary issues, but the main reasons for me are:

    1. their a security hole waiting to happen (esp .Net)
    2. their a kludge, their the wrong soln to the wrong problem
    3. Java is too slow.
    4. Their both part of the network computer push, which is just a stupid greedy move to get us to pay for stuff which could be better done by an application on our own box.

    so what I've had such a gut, since 1985, until this year I never drank at all (I was a member of the salvation army, and then I developed an allergy to the stuff), I still don't drink beer (hate the taste), anyhow the gut has nothing to do with beer.     Really, this is a fake, to begin with Zeno's paradox was answered long ago, can't remember by whom or what not, but this is a logic problem, or rather Zeno's logic was shite, it's got nothing to do with physics. I did this in formal logic at uni (i.e. Maths), as for the rest yeah it may all sound impressive but if you are Aunt Mabel who left that little back woods school after repeating Grade 6 three times but really. It's either the rantings of someone who's just lost their marbles, or a clever (well not really all that clever) hoax.

    Keep it up French dudes, at this rate your language should be extinct before 2100, :-) ok just kidding but with a serious point, laguages grow all the time, and the natural way they extend their vocabulary is to take/adapt words from other languages, to interfere with this proccess can only be dangerous, to the language. Just suppose for a moment that this works and the french people are dumb enough to start using this word, and then another and another, before long french becomes a weird unnatural thing an: Artificial language pretending to be a natural language, what then might not your young be justified in giving up french, for another language? dare I suggest maybe English? the current international language.

    My recomendation to the French would be tell your government to grow up! a natural language with a large culture of living people, cannot die if left alone, but a language bastardised to death with Artificial, abominations put in for no really good reason, who knows??

    But I'm sure the French will go on like always, and ignore this strange xenophobic government department, as I believe they always have.

    Artificial languages are for programming computers in, who ever a nice chat in C++, Perl, or what ever.

    This announcement isn't aimed at the individual Linux users, it's aimed at the PHB's. It's all about risk management. If a company has a sizeable investment in Linux, and that investment is threatened, then competent management will take necessary steps to protect it. For any company, managment has to determine which option will cost less:

    Um sorry who are the Idiots that moded this crap Insightful, it's not Insightful it's moronic, competent management DO NOT PAY SCAM ARTIST's otherwise you'll encourage more of them to shake you down.

    With all due respect, but if this is how competently bussiness are run these days in the states, then nowonder your economy is bad. (not that I believe that to be case really).
