These are just some silly bureaucrats trying to pull the solution to Oregon's multimillion-dollar budget deficit (caused by one of the lowest tax rates in the nation) out of their ass. It hasn't even hit Congress yet, and it'll die quietly there if it even makes it.
Hell, even if the polits were desperate enough to consider it, it'd only be put up to a referendum where about 90% of the votes would be "No."
This is because the majority of Oregonians are non-idiots, tax-haters, or both.
You've been hearing a lot of bad stuff about Oregon because we have an extremely loud press that will stir up huge controversy about any government issue that involves the word "tax" (on the conservative side) or anything involving civil rights (on the liberal side).
Oregon is fucking insane and schizophrenic, but I love it. At least we try to keep the environment intact. It takes a lot of guts to look at a sludgepit like the Willamette River and not throw up one's hands in defeat.
This is a DOT task force. Bureaucrats appointed by bureaucrats appointed by elected polits. Please don't assume because our bureaucrats make dumb recommendations that Oregonians are stupid enough to believe them.
And in the price department, too.
A few CPU cycles isn't enough for me to justify spending money at a browser, especially when great software like Galeon and Phoenix exists.
The issue isn't that the Linux port is taking so long.
The issue is that they promised that a Linux port would be in the box, and it was not. People bought NWN expecting to be able to use it, and they're just now seeing the end of the tunnel.
I've never had a kernel panic in 5 years of using recent Linux kernel versions.
And the WinNT kernel crash blue screen is just as cryptic as any kernel dump.
I started playing Nethack at the tender age of 13, and not because it was "oldskool" as you say. I started because it was fun and easy to smuggle onto other people's computers since I didn't have one myself.:)
No, the argument is that "Hello, World" (gasp) isn't an appropriate first program for learning Java.
I don't think it's an appropriate first program for anything, personally.
Oh? Well, as a result of a single capitalized "C" in your above post, you just accused another poster of snorting a soft drink.
Capitalization does matter. *chuckles*
No, NeoAudio is licensed under the GPL. They so much as admit that it's based off (ripped off, in my opinion) CDex. There seems to be some evidence that they've made incremental improvements to Gnucleus to make it NeoNapster. The problem is that they apparently changed copyright strings in the source, which is a no-no. You have to credit the original authors if you use their source.
Except it's on the sidewalk, and tests seem to show it's not petroleum-based. The photo looks like old dried-up gum, but unless a gum factory exploded, that wouldn't explain the rate of accumulation...:)
Got a point there.
:-p
Damn Oregon! You SUCK! No one should live here!

I'm glad I live in Oregon. Wouldn't want to live in any other state.
Oregon politicians are mostly conservative. Portland's mildly liberal, the rest of the state is very conservative.
I'm glad I live in Portland. This will never, ever pass.
And in the price department, too. A few CPU cycles isn't enough for me to justify spending money at a browser, especially when great software like Galeon and Phoenix exists.
Hydrogen dioxide? HO2? Do you not mean dihydrogen oxide?

Perhaps some of us can't afford to shell out $100+ just to play video games.
No. Please learn about humor.

OS X runs on 64-bit laptops now? Apple makes 64-bit laptops now? Where, where?
The Linux kernel with grsecurity patches is quite stable and secure. It's the shit vendors put on top of the kernel that sucks at times.

They also do different things, you know.
You forgot the letter "B" at the end. "You have been trolled badly." To the poster above: The flaw isn't in OpenSSL, it's in Konqueror itself.
Yes, I believe he called it a "piece of shit" on another part of this thread. Read before you flame.
Now, if you could hold a patent that consisted of all one-handed chord keyboards, you might have a point. All patents are not worth challenging.

The GPL also involves crediting the original authors, especially if you haven't made any significant changes.

Now, if Star Office was open source, you might have a point. It's Open Office that is open source. Star Office is a closed source commercial product.
And the non-pregnant randy females come and hump your speakers.
