Not only is there no version of J2DK1.4 for PPC(in Mac OS X or Debian/PPC), but the Mac OS X version takes a long time to load.
I reboot to Linux and run Forte over X(11R6) using my server's processor and ram(768mb as opposed to 128mb). I'd use OS X if I could get an X(11R6) server to work, but neither XDarwin nor Fink will last more than a minute before crashing.
Can this new technology be integrated into OS X or is it part of a static library that the JDK must be built with? Sun is infamous for building against outdated dynamic library, I had to 'ln -s' a library manually when installing the JDK.
It appears that we have mislead you by claiming that the new Palm-Dealy had a 32-bit display. In reality, it has a 4-bit greyscale display. The image we chose as a "demo screen" was a 32 bit image made with Maya, Bryce, and Vouse Espirit taking our render farm a week to render. It is not an actual screenshot of the next version of palmOS and it is not and actual image of the Palm-Dealy's screen. We apologize for the misconception and will offer $10 rebates against an accessory purchase valued at $1000 or more.
Because every self-respecting user of Debian GNU/Linux, the most self-respecting distro of Linux, the most self-respecting OS.
Only morons that use a different OS than the one that I use on my server would have trouble realizing that dvd burners are used in unix through scsi emulation.
All the glory of UNIX, right? Well, UNIX without X. UNIX without a path listing in the file browser. UNIX without a standard c++ compiler. UNIX without, well UNIX.
Then again, it is UNIX with commercial software. A mixed blessing, but not so bad.
Back in my day, UNIX(Linux) was pure. I had no commercial software, aside from netscape. Back in my day, we(I) had my wyse dumb terminal and didn't care that the rest of the world(literally) had their cga and vga and svga monitors and their fancy mice.
I may only be 16, but I've used everything from the Timex Sinclair to the Altair to the VAX to, my favorite, unix. I run Linux and Mac OS X exclusively. This is my day, and unix is still going strong.
From what I can tell, real geeks don't "plump up" until they get out of school. That's a good thing, since I can barely carry another person, much less 3-5.
If my windos print server wasn't down (AGAIN!), or my damn printer would work in Linux(can't change the damn ink) or my mac(not supported), I would be printing out a copy of your post to put on my wall.
I guess it's a good thing that my damn print server is blue-screened. I wouldn't want to be prosecuted under future PPAA anti-free use laws or anything. I'm dismantleing my printer now. Can't be too safe!
You are waiting for a much larger group of people to fix a security flaw that they are much closer too.
Doe M$ employees give a damn about flaws, or just put it off 'till monday? My honor is at stake with my software, and the "current" archive is usually updated within hours of me learning of the flaw.
Did konqueror or explorer get a fix first? Konqueror. 20 minutes vs. a lot longer than 20 minutes. I use mozilla-forks, but the theory holds strong throughout all the projects I've looked at.

X11 wasn't designed with the mac-style copy&paste that windos was. The select&paste method is my favorite, and one of the few features that my iBook is missing in os x.
The fact that copy&paste works at all is amazing! From what I understand, it is written "through" X, rather than in it.
Wouldn't releasing the source be the "right thing"!? It couldn't hurt them, and could make epson scanners the "de facto" Linux scanning hardware.
Would it be legal if an employee "leaked" the code for the version that contained GPL code?
What are the penalties for GPL violation? I'd want some serious financial compensation if my code was stolen. Hell, if rape victims can sue, why can't GPL programmings!?
I just had the age old network card compatibility problem. Why the HELL can't these damn companies agree on a standard!? I'd like to see a series of OSS rom images that companies can use in their products to garuntee compatibility.
Why do they need to "rub in" the fact that Moya is undermanned!?
Bad costumes. Running from one side of Moya to the other. Even cheesy scripts. All of that, and now the Sci-Fi channel's mailbox is gonna be/.ed. What a shame.
We all know that Windows was "found" in the startwars sattelite system after a "memory protection fault" required astranauts, including Bill G., had to fly to orbit to reboot it.
What only I know is that Windows crashes for a purpose. That purpose is to sell upgrades. Consumers are conned into believing this "progress". NASA has been conned into thinking that this ISN'T "extortion" or "blackmail".
Is baud just bits/sec or bytes/sec. nm, they will get 1.5kb/s.:-)

Yes, I am the guy who plays Unreal Tournament in low-grav mode with full mobility in both ground and air.
Yes, I'm the guy whos Java games move at 30 pixels per frame.
Yes, I'm the guy who pays for 500kb/s internet access.
Yes, I'm the guy who uses X to play games on his older laptop while using his Server's processor and ram. X11R6 not OS-X X-box XP etc.
For the record, my iBook running OS X had xfree installed before any X-box. And Unreal Tournament is a hell of a lot faster than Halo.
I by no means support OS X over Linux as a server OS, but for a single-user laptop with commercial games it rocks. I am in the process of moving my software towards supporting it. It's executable format (standard binary inside of a directory) is a much faster version of the JAR idea. It shows innovation, and I'd be interested in working on the project.
This concludes my monolouge. Hope you learn from it without concidering me just another moronic teen programmer (8 years of experience, half my life.)

My download speed goes from 60kbytes/s to 10kbytes/s when gtk-gnutella gets going.
GTK-gnutella has no ads, annd that's without downloads.
By reducing the number of host connections, I can reduce the bandwidth drop to 5kbytes/s.
It's a good product, after being reconfigured.

I give my time to 5-7 different projects at once, most of which have my name on the about dialog or -v switch.
What do I get in exchange? I get hundreds of thousands of programs as part of my Linux distrobution on my server.
Is it a good arrangement? I think so.
