"To be successful I have to listen to what the consumer is telling me..."
Because the customer was begging him to charge 5 dollars more for a CD, than for a compact cassette, even though the CC, was more expensive to produce?
I don't know how you were brought up, but do you remember you parents/teachers/other appropriate adults, telling you how good it was to share, despite, perhaps your initial reluctance (or downright refusal) to do so?
So parents now have to tell their children it's bad to share?
"Don't share, or the nasty RIAA monster will come and take all your toys away!"
It's not morally wrong to share.
Illegal?... well, maybe, but then the law's a law unto itself.
I buy all my games (I only 'acquire' very expensive utilities that I wouldn't be able to afford, or willing to pay the huge sums for considering my limited use of them (Photoshop/Wavelab etc.) (so no lost sale.))
GTA Vice City, plays ok on my machine, except for the fact that in a fit of paranoia it has to check the [copy protected] "Play" CD is in the drive, by reading audio data from the disc, instead of from the harddrive, where all said data is already stored.
It makes the game freeze everythime you get off a bike, out of a car, or it needs to load a new sound environment. It fscks the gameplay considerably.
No satisfactory responses from Rockstar tech support, who seem to be wilfully ignoring the exact nature of my complaint.
So I'm reduced to downloading a no-cd crack from Kazaa, which solves the problem in it's entirety, and I can now play the game as it was surely meant to be played - a smoothly as possible; with only the faint nagging thought in my head that come 12th of July, or whenever, the hacked.exe, is going to wipe my harddrive, or something.
Did that already. Voted Labour, they got in, backtracked on virtually all their commitments and promises, did things they gave no indication they would do (and indeed contradicted their stated beliefs and principles,) lied to us, and basically pulled a "bait and switch" manouever on us.
And apparently all perfectly legal.
Your vote is worthless, as things stand. Once they get it, they can do as they please. Only when an elected party or 'representative' is legally bound to do their stated duty, and face harsh penalties if they reneigh on thier promises and stated intents, will a vote be worth anything.
"Don't you see? By supporting one, you support both. The only way to fix this situation is to support artists who completely refuse to associate with the major labels..."
I think you make a very good point; by purchasing RIAA affiliated (willingly enslaved?) artists' music, you're re-enforcing the idea in an artists' mind that by signing their soul, sorry, copyrights away to the RIAA, they will achieve success, fame, riches, etc. and that it is the ideal, or only way to do business.
If signing to the RIAA (it's members) nolonger ensures a reasonable chance of success, and perhaps hinders success, then that's going to dissuade people, which can only be good for us (cheaper CDs, dismantlement of the RIAA Empire and its associated actions) and them (keeping their copyrights, more favourable contracts, etc.)
"...if a song is over 7 minutes long, they won't offer it as a separate download. It will be available as part of the album only."
"So they don't want the New Age market?;-)"
I guess Brian Eno's going to have to take another look at those 60-minute long, one track albums like Thursday Afternoon and Neroli.
99c for a whole album though... now that is an attractive pricing policy.
"The nytimes.com and news.com articles don't say anything about why these 4 guys are being singled out."
They forgot to use the Negative Publicity Shield Re-Naming Method, of P2P use.
You create a username of "HappyGurl2003" or "SweetBabe16" or variation, because the *AA will sue hairy-arsed, male, pirates, but will shy away from sweet little girls; their PR people would shit a brick.

There is more to the world than the good ol' USA, you know.
Europe, Asia, etc, may have something to say about it.

"Mozilla is the most stable piece of software I think I have ever worked with, I use it 8-14 hours a day, 6-7 days a week and I haven't had a crash in like 6 months. Much better than IE even though I use IE maybe 2% of the time!"
I have to say I agree. Stability is the issue for me, not speed (which seems oft complained about.) I tried Opera, and 'though sleek and quite lovely, it crashed like there was no tomorrow. IE6, crashes often enough for me to develop a special snarl for it, but I've never had a crash from Mozilla 1.3.1. A glitch with the Bookmarks displaying, once, and it was easily sorted out.
Oh, come on, the way it was sold to us Brits, Iraq could launch an attack within 72 hours, on Britain.
Now, they;re saying the "smoking gun" is a missile programme that could have lead to the development of a fully working missile capable of delivering a conventional payload, and possibly nuclear or biologicals, wintin a year!
And even then, only one that had a range of 600 miles (or capable of reaching Israel.)

This man was never listening. He's lying.

Thanks Rockstar Games.
Depends: it is for males. It's the other way round for females.

Tough love?
Where were they? Where was their support for this guy; legal, monetary or moral?
All together now...
Fuck The RIAA
(I wonder which band will be the first to name an album "Fuck The RIAA?")

The problem is the type of wood. You really need a blond-wood desk for such designs - something Scandinavian (try Ikea.)

That does me, and now it's what I use every day.

Let me introduce you to the concept of irony.
It was humour. I'm from the UK. We live in the 21st Century too, and whatnot.
"Fortnight" is a perfectly common term.
The early worm gets the bird, after all.

What they told us was bunk.
"Prove it."
60% of all internet traffic used for streaming audio!
60% of all internet traffic used for paid movie streams!
So bleedin' what?
This is a troll? That's ridiculous. It was a serious question, at something I was astounded at.
Dude, it's within ourselves that we need to explore. We don't even know ourselves, man.
Mod this as funny and I'll kick your ass.
Why on earth not???????
It could be different to the code used in the actual election.
