  1. Re:Gnome file dialogs on GNOME Ignoring its Own Users? · · Score: 1

In relationship to this, does anyone know if it's possible to disable the new dialog boxes, or get the old functionality back?

It used to be super-quick to find any file on my system, just by type "~/docs" and tabbing my way into the appropriate directories. In the new dialog, even with that Ctrl-F garbage you can't get into directories, it's annoying as hell.

I wonder if a hydrogen/fuel cell car could be created with a plugin to make hydrogen from water. Kind of like a using water/hydrogen as a big battery, but you could instantly refill it if necessary. That way you could hook up solar cells or plug it in at those electric car recharge stations to get part of your energy to drive free.

Amen to that. (Wireless ethernet isn't a requirement for me, though.) For $400, I'd be happy with 20 gigs as long as the processor was 1ghz or so.

When I'm looking at laptops, I'm always frustrated that they have three things I don't want: a DVD drive (now most have a CD-RW, too), a modem, and of course, Windows XP (and probably Office and who knows what else), which I would overwrite anyway. But they're fairly good machines at good speeds, like 2ghz or so, for only $1000. I'm wondering, why can't they drop all that junk and sell it for $800?
