    It's mainly useful in big desert Open Areas where cross-country riding is allowed.

    Just mark your car, ride miles away, and when you're ready to go back, just follow the arrow. No parking near landmarks to remember where the car is.

    On the details page it mentions that it can run on 12 volt DC -- this would make it perfect for running it a car! Now to just figure out some sort of display. Great idea for GPS navigation...

    When I read the parent's parent's post, about something not working right in Linux, I was reminded of my sound recording troubles with Linux. Well Apple has all the knowledge and documentation of the hardware so they can easily make things work right. Plus there's only limited hardware to support.

    As seen on the Kuro5hin article, there are still patents in other countries (Japan, Canada, England, etc.) that don't expire until next year.

    I use GTK+ because it's faster/lighter than using KDE or QT (if you're not running KDE, that is) and because it works on Windows (ok, not a big deal, but I wanted my program to get the most coverage possible)

    I don't like it because it's too big and slow. However, it's the only thing that does the job (in Linux), and with computers getting faster all the time that is not an issue. Well, actually, there are some other things I don't like about it, such as it's automatic messing up what you type, but Word probably does some of that too.

    I'm a Linux-loving application programmer (well, pretty much) and a geocacher. What's the application? Unforunately, I'm really busy with my own program these days, called Viking, to manage GPS data, show tracks over topos, etc.

    Even easier. Knoppix comes with XFree86 4.3, so just run xrandr -s 1280x1024 (if I'm remembering that right) when in X.

    Then again, Konq's got the AAing right, but the fonts are huuuuge.
    Can't you just change the size in Prefernces -> Configure Konqueror -> Fonts ?

    It's not a bug, it's a feature! The "crash" input type allows the user to crash the browser. It's very useful and another Microsoft (TM) innovation.

    Wow, this is music to my ears! If I buy a $1000 mac and a ipod and I move to the US I can buy music at $1/song? Or I could just pay a little more and get the whole album or download it for free of gnutella, kazaa, etc.
