  1. If you have to ask, it must really be tough on BitTorrent Inherently Illegal? · · Score: 1

How can a student respond to such an accusation in order to defend the validity of BitTorrent and continue to benefit from its legitimate uses?" If you have to ask for ideas and excuses for legitimate uses, you must not have many. Leave it to those who really do have legitimate uses to come up with their reasoning behind continued usage. It just seems like you're looking for justification as opposed to a valid defense.

Let's face it, everything that was offered on TSS and TechTV can be duplicated by visiting Slashdot and a few other select websites. To start a network of all techie shows would be a waste of investment capital. The only value brought by TSS to the tech world was their reviews and tips - again, easilly published (and cheaper) on the web. You don't need a buyout by G4 to tell you that TechTV had its days numbered over time.

It's kinda coincidental that they've also made the connection between college and big-screen gaming.

It's the same story from 7 years ago, in reverse.
It comes down to laziness in web application development teams and making users conform to the whims of the developers instead of the developers trying their darndest to be transparent throughout the web application process.
To make a specific browser an integral part of an application rather than making it irrelevant will be something web app teams will have to deal with well into the future if they truely want to cater to all PC users in the long-haul.
Just like error-trapping is necessary, there should a a browser-trapping standard developed for web apps.
