I used to live in a suburd about 20km from downtown Montreal. You have to understand Montreal is an Island and bridges tends to get veru busy in rush hours... I had to pay for my car (and gas), for my parking at the subway station on the south shore and for my public transit fees... It IS a lot of money to have a somewhat cheaper rent...
Well, I am kind of a Grammar Nazi with my french. In fact I can proofread, correct and reformulate a text for a given public. I take very positively the criticism about languages and try to make it better. I am also learning a bit of Espanol by myself... But right now, I am just pissed off about this particular CBC issue. I think we should just shut it down and sell the assets. 50 years ago it was the only channel available, it is now Entertainment is too pervasive in our society anyway.
Send your concerns to spark@cbc.ca. Slashdotting their mail server would be appropriate.

The ban on creative commons works is appalling. You are publicly funded ans thus this shows a deep confilct of interests between you, who supposedly represent the public that fund your programming, and some agreements with private entities to suppress public work. You undermine the work of artists that are thinking ahead and are creating the next generation of thinking, creating and publishing model. As you know dinosaurs are now extincts, I believe you are no longer fit and do not represent our interests. I shall consequently actively lobby for the dismanteling of our once great public broadcaster to my federal representatives unless you correct your awful actions.
With all my hearth I hope this will open your eyes.
The cute animations can and will distract attention. This alone may pose a threat to driving. I myself tested driving with a GPS unit and found it distracting and just another excuse to not develop your sense of orientation. I prefer to rely on my own skills, if I get lost, I have maps in my car and pull over to consult them instead of trying to do too much at the same time while driving.
7up is suing on infringement of trademark "Fido Dido"... Seriously, publicity rights apply if you can recognize the person. The makers of the suit have more "rights" than the obscure astronaut in this case. If she have acquired the rights from Nasa, who probably holds the right to the picture... Move along nothing to see here.
I can remember two events in my early teen computer life :
1. My first computer class in high school involved programming in logo writer. I asked the teacher how to program sound and he told me it was impossible. I did a little experimentation and found how it worked and created a high pitched beep (15KHh) that lasted too long for the teacher's taste
2. One of my sucker "friend" found one day a floppy disk in his street that contained a "Dragonball pictures downloader", in fact I created it with my friend in VB and it deleted random files in his Windows and Program Files folder, of course the close button did not worked. The trick did not worked, as he continued to speak with us afterwards...
Your SIP phone is a bit of a problem--you and the ten other people who have one will probably have to upgrade the firmware or buy a replacement.
Do not underestimate the number of people and large organisations that relies on VOIP technology. If YOU like to spend unnecessary money to an overpriced landline with so many fees on basic options... not to mention those long distance fees already a thing of the past for many of us. Oh yeah, e911 work on VOIP too, ask your provider.
You did not assert for my main concenr, which is : But I tend to rely to Internet for information about removal of malware or software download to remove them.
That aside, I did not had malware on my computers in 10 years. If my Internet connection got cut-off, I also lose my IP phone and IPTV... In case of emergency, I could not reach 911. Focus should be on DPI and dumping the known malware traffic to/dev/null. Do you expect your whole grocery to close if some bacteria is found in your chicken? No, you expect them to remove the infected chicken and let you buy any other edibles.
But I tend to rely to Internet for information about removal of malware or software download to remove them. What about a ISP level antivirus/malware detection mechanism. If I pay for my bandwidth and I got cut-off because of malware, I expect a full refund for the loss of service plus compensation for the trouble.
I used to assist a IT director for a medium business and I had to manage Cisco routers at some point. I tried the Web Based gui at some point, but ended up dumping the config file and modify it, found it more easier. Eventually I learned the basic of their CLI and it was WAY more efficient. And their "engineers" working from Mexico was about as useful as monkeys with user manuals and typewritters.
I ised to do IT support when I was graphic designer for a very small firm (3-10 employees depending of the needs). We had our very own Exchange server, but only the boss used the calendar and contact features. When our server finally crashed, we outsourced our Exchange services for our one boss for a couple bucks a months, outsourced web servers to a datacenter for peanuts a month, including backups and kept our big fat pipe to ourselves. It made my life easier, saved the company the support budget and made our one server more efficient to serve our big fat multimedia files and daily backups. The exchange server relied on a different domain, but that was the only inconvenience...
I was under the impression it used some recent DRI kernel calls... does cygwin does that? You may have more chances using Linux as Windows process for your setup...

I do all my text editing using Adobe Illustrator... I like things complicated!

I am a frenchie... that you found only one misspelling is very good news to my ears.

I wished to, one day, see a native version of Adobe creative products running on Linux... if the deal goes forward this will never happen.
You DO realize Flash is more than a video container for youtube videos...

An arc welder would also do the job. I am pretty sure the virus would be gone. The real challenge is to keep the computer operational...

We should hire lobbyist to represent us to our represemtatives... but that would be redundant ,right?
Coopers is infinitely better than that popular Dutch crap in the green bottle.
