You can run some Windows games in Linux with steam now... the ones they could easily port / modify. Sadly if you want anything new or just a AAA title, you're still stuck with Windows. So many cry babies here, boo hoo it deactivated itself for a bit, it must be a horrible OS. jeeze..

Yeah... Typing Of The Dead is 15 years old? Or.. more? So many games, new and old are available through digital distribution. I'm sorry that PC's frustrate you, but they're really perfectly fine as a gaming platform and have been for decades. So, I will make sure to get off of your lawn, good sir, but you're really wrong about this almost entirely.

  3. I think tracking everyone's behavior and then scoring them on it, then using that score to deny them various services is a little fucked. You get negatively scored for j-walking in China-- it's just too draconian. Chill out China, people are more productive when they don't have to look over their shoulder constantly.

  6. It's an amazing functionality that I use to watch pretty much everything. I have a Plex (http://www.plex.tv) server set up, with the plex iOS app and a Chromecast device (Like the FireTV stick but not shitty) plugged into my TV, I can cast from my phone as a kind of remote to the TV. I can use Netflix or any other video streaming app and cast it to my TV as well-- I'm surprised you're just now hearing about this. Now VLC supports it you should be able to throw whatever from VLC to your TV.

  7. This situation really pisses me off-- I don't have a lot of extra money, I have a 660 GTX and was REALLY hoping to buy a new 1060 6GB come tax season, and after actually looking on pricewatch and newegg, it's a disaster. Cards for $230-$299 are now $500+ and I just can't swing that. I'm hoping some new stock comes in next month for a reasonable price, or I can find someone on eBay who isn't a greedy dickweed. This needs to stop.

You'd think that after what he did for THE WORLD by deactivating WCry, they'd let him go.. but nooooo they have to throw him in a courtroom and try to convict him of ... what? Ok, this comment reads as boilerplate response from someone under 40 to someone over 50--- while I AGREE, I have been downloading music, movies and TV since 1997 or so and if I like a band a lot, I'll go to their concerts, buy their shirts and tell my friends about them. If I really want to see a movie, I'll go to the theater, tell my friends if it was good etc etc-- anyway, I'm a filthy pirate, but these guys don't think of it this way. They don't care if the copy was digital, they don't care that nothing physical was stolen, they feel like a bunch of kids have figured out how to rip them off wholesale, how to keep watching their content for free and it's costing them millions! -- that's what we need to pound into their heads, not the fact that nothing physical was stolen, that there are no/few options for cord cutters, that these shows/movies are released in other countries and they need to reach parity with those release dates in order to succeed.

Bwah hahahahah!!! Wow, really? No place for that in broadcasting OR ANYWHERE ELSE? Have you lost your mind? Crude, yes, inappropriate, no, it was very appropriate, he expressed his anger and frustration with a president who's awash in scandal, isn't prepared or capable of running the country and is trying to strike down investigations into possible collusion with Russia-- I think saying his mouth is a cock holster was wildly appropriate-- but then again I'm not a third grade teacher, after school daycare provider or nanny of any kind.

  18. Definitely, this is kind of a Big Deal(tm) --- If you watch last week's episode of VICE (or was it the week before...?) on HBO, they delve a bit into the state of AI technology and actually mention a Go match with AlphaGo and a Chinese master player, I don't remember if it's the same guy though. In that episode (edit: ahh there it is, it was two weeks ago; "Engineering Immortality & Robot Revolution" talks robotics + AI with Hammilton Morris, my favorite VICE guy) they explain a little bit why defeating these Go champions w/ AI is a bit more impressive than it seems initially. If you have HBO or HBO GO (lol), you can watch the episode here ---> http://www.hbo.com/vice/episod... -- or just torrent it like a normal human being.

  20. Microdosing is indeed, commonly the practice of taking small amounts of LSD, but also extends to other drugs. I believe the typical micro-dose is about 25ug or 25 micrograms. The typical hit of LSD is about 75-100mcg, and everyone is different, so you're right, it may take some "adjustments" to figure out the right dose. I think 15-25mcg is perfect, you don't really feel the effects of under 50mcg.
