    You've got to be kidding when you say Apple should port OO.o to OSX. OO is one of the most bloated pieces of software out there. You aren't gonna be able to run it on a 5 yr old mac period (remember macs live 5 years, not 3). If Apple was going to use existing OSS stuff, they should avoid OO like the plague and port Abiword and Gnumeric.

    also, OO.o won't print on my mac. So i just copied office off a computer ar school. I hope iWork is all contined insidde the .app directories as well, so i can get it "included" too.

    I have a Ford. that means i don't need to change my oil on my own. I just get the shop to do it every 5K miles when i bring it in to get the engine fixed. Along with a new intake manifold, they changed the oil for me too!

    Except most people play these games on consoles, and you can't just enter a db into a console game. (i know you can hook up a memory card to a computer somehow, or use the xbox hdd, but most people won't)

    At least form watching the trialer. I think the reason the orignal is so great is that the movie seems like a happy movie, so all the sinister stuff jumps out even more.

    Do you honestly believe the shit that is coming out of your mouth?

    First, i want my car to crumple in a wreck. That absorbs energy. If your car bounces, you're gonna be killed. When my truck "colapses" it absorbs the energy of the collision, so i can walk away. Also, i can't believe they you actually think that a smart wouldn't hold up to a truck or suv. A normal sedan can't hold up to a big car. While i've never been in a wreck in a truck, i was rear-ened in my Crown Vic. Messed up the Accord that hit me pretty good and m only damage was the exhaust pipe came loose and a tail light cracked.

    If you're in a swing state, vote for the lesser of two evils. The most important thing is to have the least bad president possible. a third party will not win and contributing the the magic 5% isn't as important as chosing the president. However, if your state wasn't a swing state, vote for the third party. if a third party gets federal money, the political system could be in for some pretty major change.

    MA did a survey of traffic stops and found overwhelmingly black drivers were stopped, searched, and issued tickets more than white drivers. White women had the absolute lowest rates as well. There was one notable exception- the MA state police were almost dead even for all races, genders, and age groups. Town police departments were the worst "offenders".

    Black guys do tend to drive faster, and old white women tend to drive slow as shit cause they're "scared." So don't always believe profiling stories.

    You want cables in the base and wall-mountable? Those don't go together. And iirc, a wall mount will be availible.

    won't happen. However, the best method is the current one, imo. If you want integrated, you use KDE/GNOME if not, use basic qt/gtk.

    Some languages have only a few words for color, for example. However, experiments show that this does not impair speakers of these languages from differentiating different shades of colors.

    In a primitive society, im sure that things only come in amounts of one, two, or many. Think about it. And if they're not used to doing something, they can't do it. The two correlate, but the scientists have the causation backwards. Thy don't deal with other quantities, so that don't have words for them and they aren't really good at dealing with them since they don't.

    Damn, that's confusing. Sorry.

    they have no real evidence. however, airports are free from a lot of due process laws when it coms to the airport itself. However, that doesn't extend to detainment or arrest.

    Actually. it is a free market. Intel stil has the Intel name going for them. It'll be a long time (in tech time) before that changes.

    First, they are only a little more expensive than Dell, but Dell is a POS and won't last mear as long. And the desktops aren't expensive either. They have otehr desktops than just the PowerMac. The PowerMac is ultra high end. Most people would be better suited by an afoordable iMac or even eMac.

    IIRC, MPAA approved codecs won't play encrypted images and if they use an OSS player, they're already violating the DMCA, so why not go all the way and re-encode to XviD (except for the time problem, of course).

    I agree. Passive cooling is hell, but they should do like apple and put a shitload of slow moving(silent) fans in there. My G5 (also my PVR/TV/DVD) is 100% silent and it makes a whole lot more heat than this thing.

    Once you get used to onehanded typing its not that hard. I do it all the time on my normal qwerty kb. It just takees some practice and i still cant touchtype one handed.
