    I have a hotmail account. All i use it for is signing up for stuff. So it gets the spam instead of my real account. However i still notice the ammount of hotmail spams i get. I get as much spam from hotmail as from porn or penis/breast enlargement.

    Which is why MS wouldn't back it. They like selling windows. It makes them money. They don't want people moving to another platform.

    Yea, but copy C:\Windows\Tempor~1\Work.exe C:\Windows\StartMenu\Programs\Startup dosn't work too well on linux.

    i'd pay a few bucks/album for most of what i dl. Some stuff that i dl for free wouldn't be worth buying at any price but most of it would be worht a few bucks. Not $18 and I see no point in paying via the record labels. They have given me nothing but the DMCA. If artists started selling cheap music from their web sites or something, i'd be interested.

    In the same vein no one has ever come up with a clear definition of a human being either, but you're likely to know one when you see one with at least a certain level of accuracy.

    of course we can't eliminate GTK b/c it's LGPL and commercial apps can be made w/ it. To make commercial apps w/ Qt, you have to pay a liscence for the QPL version since GPL doesn't allow commercial use.

    In print, make sure to use diagrams and pictures. If for no other reason this breaks up long blocks of text and gives basic structure to the article that can be taken in really quick encouraging the reader to continue reading. On tv, use animations, static ictures, and a gy just talking tend to bore the reader more than animations.

    Compile it on your box w/ -O3 and your specific -march. Most binaris are either -O1 or -O2 and -march i386. I use sylpheed so i'm not exactly sure how much improvemnt that gets you but i'm sure it's pretty noticble.

    The right way IMO to do this is to have a close box for closing up the tab strip itself in the same place Phoenix and Mozilla have it, but to also have close boxes on the tabs themselves (the way Galeon does it). With this model, it's clear what the different close metaphors are, and you don't end up with user (even power user) confusion.

    I know Phoenix tabs now have the option to have closebosex in tabs (In fact i've never used the button at the end) an IIRC the last time i installed tabs Closeboxes in tabs was the default.
