Umm... A lot of people aer still using win 95/98/ME and still get a shitload of bluescreens. Plus i've had a lot of my (formerly) win2k boxes get all messed up and start bluescrening. It's just less common.
I know this is a design patent, but will i have to get rid of my metal mesh trashcan b/c it looks like the aqua one. I hope not, it really matches my desk.
it's a design patent. That means you can't use their icon. You can still use a trashcan though. While kinda odd, it's not too bad. This is part of a larger group of patents to protect aqua.
Imo they're gonna keep MS from attemting to duplicate Aqua. As we can see form GNOME and KDE people want their desktop to look like aqua. Microsoft obviously needs a major GUI overhaul (that's why the win32 users have to deal w/ unintuitive apps that don't fit in and come w/ bad skins). The obvious solution for MS is to make their GUI Aqua-like b/c people like it. Apple is hoping to be able to stop that.
The space elevator seems the most economically sensible option. Low cost of lanch, and easily replacable (due to obolescance) launch vehicles. If we can make the thing strong enough that nobody'll fly a plane into it and ruin the whole thing it is probobly the best option. In the report i read they said it would be pretty easy to add more shafts after the forst one was up. Of course it'll cost a lot to build the anchor, but it seems like it'll pay for itself over time.
Of course then this makes games last longer. That's one thing i loved about GTA. It took forever to beat, but i didn' have to buy any new games in that time.
But the question is what constitutes a threat? I bet most terrorists haven't raied enough folags in their brief time in the country. I just worry that like many plans terrorists will slip through and it will cause hell for normal people.
Some time ago, friends of mine here (in AK) began doing just that. They did the math, discovered it was cheaper to buy a new printer from [major membership-type warehouse outlet] each time a cartridge ran out. Perfectly good printers became targets for a wide variety of projectile weapons.
Which is why new printers don't come w/ full ink cartridges. Just 1 page demo cartridges.
The google patent is very specific and legiit. They're not patenting "ranking pages by popularity" they're patenting a method. If you want to make an algorithm to do the same thing go for it, get a patent, and compete w/ google. They're allowing that.
Ince the currnt laptoshes are so swank, i was wondering how well these chips'll do in powerbooks compared to the G4. Will it be as battery-heat friendly or will Apple stick w/ G4s on the laptops for a while.
My private school overcharges on tuition and has to waste money to not lose non-profit status. In addition to bringin in lots of shitty, overpriced computers, we also like buying M$ liscenses.
I haven't had enough time to play with this, but it seems great. All i've done is map apps to letter gestures (P for Phoenix, etc,) But it can also send key commands. so C could be copy and V paste or so.
It'll cause pollution. DUH
That many more packets on the road will release more greenhouse gasses. We need HDP(High Data Packets) routs for packets containing more crucial info. These routs could be on the left of the routs to avoid having to merge with the Single occupant packets and have special exit and entrance gateways. Also prefhaps "hybrid" packets that pollute less will be released and allowed to use the HDP lanes.
While the accused are probobly guilty of breaking copyright law, i don't see why the DMCA is involved. Shouldn't they just be prosecuted under normal copyright law.
I prefer downloading via HTTP. It's usually faster for moderate sized files. I run both an HTTP and FTP server, but i rarely use the FTP server for anything but uploads. HTTP's just easier to deal with.
Red Hat gives back to the community. Maybe it's just b/c they have to under the GPL, but whatever tehe reasons they do. While i don't like the red hat distro (gentoo 4 life) i'm a big fan of the company.
Plus, if you have redHat skills you can apply them to any other *NIX
Funny how incredibly rich corporations are treated slightly differently to normal people, huh?
Oh enough antiPatriotic bs, off to guantanamo w/ you.

I live in the ATL and i'm sure we have enough O3 to qualify as pesticede, yet we still have hella mosquitos.
but it's not raid or he wouldn't have had to use LVM.

Perfect example. If you want to see the true value of P2P, just try to dl something off ibiblio. You may want to go to a movie while dling.

They harvest emails to and from hotmail. If you get a message form @hotmail or send an email to @hotmail, you'll get a shitload of spam.

Whining's easier, though
