I've been using doteasy for several years now. The service has always been consistent, and my interaction with their accounting people has been good.

DotEasy has a hosting option that will supply up to 10 email addresses and 20mb of web space for $0 a month, which seems perfeect for what you're looking to do. I have several accounts hosted on this plan, and it has worked wonderfully.

The same argument could be made about previous geenrations, and yet there is still a portion of this country that seems to be able to think outside your picture of a government-mandated paradigm. Towing a line of thought taught to you in a goverment educational system isn't going to happen to everyone that walks through those doors.

Just because this study seems to suggest that teenagers today don't have a basic knoledge of the principles this country is based on doesn't neccessary mean that they're all going to grow up without the ability to think for themselves. Give them a little slice of credit, please.

  13. honestly, I'm kinda scared on What's Keeping You On Windows? · · Score: 1
Sad, but true. I could be out there reading more about different systems, about compatibility and the such, but it's a bit of a hurdle that I'm not sure I have the intestinal fortitude to muddle through. After worrying about such things as compatibility, easy of use, accessibility to drivers and the such, I've found it much easier to stick with Windows and deal with the fact that I might be missing out on something.

That's not to say that with a little bit of nudging, that wouldn't change at all. But without quick access to those kinds of resources, it makes the jump that much harder.

Maybe I should slap a machine together and tinker around for a while. Does anyone have suggestions for people trying to make the leap?

  14. blogs need a book? on The Weblog Handbook · · Score: 3, Insightful
I mean really. Anyone can put up html with a pile of links and slap away at the keyboard for a few minutes. Is this really a topic that deserves it's own book?

It is exactly this kind of overanalyzing that is making the web suck.
