    However, I'm glad that there was a workaround for this issue for us on OSX, because the performance benefits are huge -- Firefox 3 on the Mac (everywhere, really) is going to be a kick-ass release!"


    So, there was no issue w/F'fox v2, and 3, already 'snappier', will be a k-a release when it comes out of beta.

    So, where does the crippling come in? And why does it seem like a dev w/beta software is shifting the blame, especially when the dev admits X contained a workaround?

    After all, just what % of Leopard was written in-house by Apple.

    The press release stated that Stephen Norris Capital Partners was doing the deal, that it was a limited partnership, without specifying in which state, and it listed Norris as "managing partner" of SNCP:

            "We saw a tremendous investment opportunity in SCO and its vast range of products and services, including many new innovations ready or soon to be ready to be released into the marketplace," said Stephen Norris, managing partner for SCNP....

            Stephen Norris & Co. Capital Partners, L.P. is a private equity investment partnership formed to (i) "co-invest" alongside well established and successful private equity and leveraged buyout firms, (ii) take advantage of the business experience and relationships of its Investment Committee, including Steve Norris' long-standing relationships and substantial private equity experience.

    While the press release says that SNCP is a partnership, the MOU says it's a deal between SCO and STEVE NORRIS CAPITAL PARTNERS, LLC and it defines SNCP as "Stephen Norris Capital Partners, LLC" and it further says it's a Delaware limited liability company ("Investment Team: Stephen Norris Capital Partners, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("SNCP").").

    I'm guessing that instead of rejecting it first, and _then_ ripping submitters off by using roland poop-pah-meal, etc. they think if they just let it quietly die like a bloated x-groundhog lying under the front porch in the heat of the afternoon, maybe no one will notice.

    But just like that motionless and maggot-ridden rodent, the wafting smell of a purloined post gives up the ghost hiding in the shadows.

    Hey, it takes more than just throwing a dart at a board to steal an idea, you know...if they were smart enough to automate cherry-picking of submissions, they'd be smart enough to come up with their own. They are not. We get to deal with it. Life's tough, and then you get rejected.

    Dismay, when contacted, said she was not even in the country when the photo in question was taken. Vista could not be reached for comment, but her publisher insisted that all struggling new talent has photos in the closet that invariably surface when they become popular. When asked, the man-on-the-street responded with a shrug and said "Good thing neither of them has dentures - someone could have lost a labia!"

    "We have to figure out how to mount the drill??!!" Is this a new engineering issue? No, even with the lower gravity, the main 'hurdles' remain the same and the world is full of examples. Get over it.

    Then, soon, the other shoe drops and all we hear is the pleading for money.

    Why not just skip the BS dog/pony show, hand over the report and get on with it like (almost) every other govt. funded agency.

    1.) Not all patents are submitted by domestic entities.
    2.) The trend in America towards a service industry, like the patent system issue, is not a new development - fresh engineers will come in lesser numbers, not more.

    Bonus tip: Firefox [mozilla.com] with 'Flashblock' will simply frame the above courtesy/inane embedded flash and you can once again stuff the ./ editor's head back between his/her ass, where it usually resides. If there is no embedded flash above, then consider the head and the practice both retracted :)
